No one knows how this turned out? If the police questioned him "for hours", he must have said something. I hope that he had an attorney present. but then he wouldn't have been there for hours would he? In Texas until 1972, you had to make an effort to "escape" - even inside your house. In 1995 the law changed to where you could shoot someone INside your house IF you feared for your life. You shoot someone standing OUTside your house, messing with the screen window - then hire the best defense attorney you can find. 🙄 Texas is not the Wild West anymore...🤠
@robertstevens9134 жыл бұрын
@@Austin8thGenTexan no, it's not the wild west. But common sense still reigns. Castle doctrine is the law. Because if someone breaks into your house, you'd be a fool to take any chances. If they break in, you can bet they are not there to bake cookies. Try to hold them for the cops, but if they come at you, shoot and shoot to kill. The law usually..usually backs the law abiding citizen, not the criminal. Of course you do have DA's who are communist and forget who they work for.

If they have "no business on private property " then it would seem to reason that you can just smoke any jehovah's witness or solicitor that comes in your yard. 1 thing in this man's favor, and its taught in cpl class, is shoot to kill so that there's basically only 1 side of the story.

Your home is your castle. Apply common sense. Good for him. If you don’t fear home intrusion when it happens, you either know the people or there is something wrong with you.

When a burglar breaks in to your home, you don’t know if they have a knife or gun. I applaud the gentleman for standing up for himself. When they approach you and gain entrance to “your” home, that’s a threat. In Pennsylvania, they have the “Castle Doctrine. “ that stands behind a home owner. Right now , word is out. Don’t burglarize this address. 👍🏼

I live with my son on the ground floor of a apartment building. One night a man was trying to break in my bedroom window. I was waiting on the other side with a baseball bat waiting for him to stick his head through. I really wanted to clock him one on the head but he got spooked an ran. So disappointing. Never came back.
