I’m glad the previous owners built our chimney with beautiful stone instead of brick or those vinyl ones looks amazing after 30 years. It’s only for the fireplace of course. Still pvc sticking out the side for the furnace.

The neck trick works! It’s real good at the elbows too when you might’ve overdid it a little bit. I like to throw mine in the freezer and keep em rotating. Every water break switch out your rag. If it’s a little frozen it won’t be for long. Hand towels are good too.

This is the best money I spend a month. I canceled a lot of streaming services. The kids were upset but I’m the dad so that’s the deal!!

In the process of a chimney demo. Strategic love taps with an 8lb sledgehammer was all it took to remove the well-aged brick work (clay insert). The flue goes into the basement through the foundation. After removing the stove and flue, how would you seal off the hole in the foundation? I was planning on using plywood, Styrofoam insulation, and some silicone.

Ah no. Use concrete brick or block. Parging over it after and then water proof it using foundation coating and 6mm poly
@johnm.63496 ай бұрын
@@ErnieDebets-yk7vn I can do that. Thanks, stenger!

Do you have any of the inside,, and the floor with bricks. It very difficult for us to try and remove the ones inside on the ground. Thank you for this video

We had 8th day in a row here in Austin at or over 100...humidity would kill us. I hope Elon is watching and I love that you are just trying to make a living. The World was built that way.

We had a heavy downpour in Orleans in the evening which you probably got too. Did you finish sealing things up?

Should your ice and water shield go a little higher up against the wall?

Only time rope has ever saved me roofing is on icy days or if it's a really steep architecture tower

I take down and rebuild a chimney almost every day 6 months a year. This is not how it’s done. You never smash with a hammer so pieces fly everywhere. It’s messy and dangerous. You don’t slide anything down the roof. You put up a scaffold and plank onto the roof so you have a work area. Then you use buckets to bring the material to where you dump it. Watching this makes me cringe.

Why are you wearing a hard hat on the roof lol maybe it'll protect you from bird shit...
