Homeschool to School 🏫 The Highs & Lows. What’s it really like?

Even though my children were always in mainstream public schools, we were a military family and moved every 3-4 years. We found that our kids were always ahead or behind academically and the transition in either case is very difficult. If they were ahead they were bored, if behind they struggled and were lost. Plus on top of that they were the new kids having to navigate the social side making new friends finding their place. The good news is that these life changes and struggles made them become strong and flexible and very capable of facing life. God is good!

As a kid going to school was harder after being homeschooled!!! I know it’s going to be hard for your boys!!! I’ve done both re starring at the beginning of the year and half way thru the year and yea it was different but I can’t say which one I preferred!!! I agree that kids learn at their own pace!!! I’ve had to lower a kids math level drastically and glad I have!!! When we pulled out our kids I remembered my experience and we got teachers in to our house for a while and we are willing to again!!! I speak to my kids about different ungodly behaviour!!!

Great News that Joseph and Isaac are at school- Fantastic. Growth many time is through struggle. I am proud of them both. The girls can stay at Home School for now. 😅

I'm enjoying these videos on this transition! I have no idea why KZbin has filled my feed with moms like you who are transitioning to school. We're a private school family. My husband is a Principal at a Christian HS school and my kids attend Christian primary school. Maybe the Lord has me learning how to support you all! IDK. But actually, the objective data out there is most favorable for Private School over the other two broad options for most every marker, social and academic. That's not comfortable for homeschool moms, and for some reason even in Christian circles no one wants to talk about that either! You're in a good place for this season. It was a spirit led decision, and you can trust the direction the Lord has taken your family. His leading is best for your children whatever that option ends up being. Also, He might lead to make a different change in the future! Just keep walking it out with the Lord. He can work through so many different options!
