Wow! Your approach on homeschooling is inspiring. My kids are all grown and my one daughter that actually has children is a school teacher. Seeing what you are talking about makes me and how it works for you, kind of makes me wish she could do what you're doing. Blessings to you.🙏♥️🇱🇷

You sound very professional haha, I enjoyed your video!!! I have six kids and enjoyed doing school with each one, one at a time but as they get older, and the workload increases, this becomes less and less feasible. I'm now looking into different group subjects

Thank you! I totally understand. I also am leaning more towards group work. I'm looking at doing some Gather Round Homeschool group studies. Have you tried this curriculum?

I have 7 kids too but mine are a bit younger my oldest is 10 and youngest is 7 months. Only my three oldest are actually school age but my four toddlers like to do their little "school" stuff too. We do some together subjects too. And I'm in wisconsin.

Love your channel. I only have three kiddos (though I’d love more/ it’s in Gods hands) my oldest and youngest love being Home but my middle kiddo begs to go to public school with the neighbor kids. It’s so hard to know what the right thing to do is for each kid.
@TheFromScratchFarmhouse3 жыл бұрын
I completely agree... such a tough decision. I haven't shared this publicly, but I'm considering sending my kiddos 1st grade and up to public school next year. We have a small k-12 school here with excellent teachers so I feel comfortable with it. I just know I'll miss all of the one-on-one time we get. I also am telling myself that this isn't a permanent decision in the slightest. We might try it, but if for any reason it doesn't work out, we can certainly go back to homeschooling at any time. For me that takes a lot of the pressure off. Also, don't let any homeschooling moms guilt you for choosing public school, if you do. I only say this because I've seen the criticism happen and honestly, I expect it if we decide on that route. I went to public school and I think I turned out ok. 😜 Good luck with your decision!

Thank you for sharing that with me! It’s so nice to know I’m not alone in this boat! I have to keep reminding myself we can try it and we can always go back to homeschool if needed. Love your channel! :)

It is a teacher planner from Target. I'm not sure if they have them all of the time, but they have a great selection when the back to school stuff gets put out!

I can’t delegate to anyone. We are all alone with a husband who works 50 plus hours a week
@TheFromScratchFarmhouse2 жыл бұрын
That is hard when you don't have help, but you can still delegate by using educational videos, online courses, local homeschool groups or co-ops, or hiring a teacher for a subject you need help teaching.

As a teacher, I love the individualized education homeschooling allows. I just don't think an ordinary parent can teach a child all they need to know from grades k-12. Teaching is definitely a community effort. Two parents just can't do it all. There will be gaps, and as someone who faked my way through math -- these children will struggle as young adults with gaps in their fundamental education.
@peachy_reina3 жыл бұрын
Even kids in public school have gaps in their education most of the time being in large classrooms with one teacher and having the pressure of having to keep up with the rest of their peers even if they need a little extra help. Usually they can't get that extra help unless parents spend extra money on a tutor or something. And plenty of homeschooled children do better in life. But it can be argued either way. It really depends on the child, the method of teaching best suited for that child, and the time and effort put in by the parents/teachers.... DESPITE being at home or in public school 👍💕
@strangementalitypaperYT3 жыл бұрын
@@peachy_reina That's actually not true. Help is abundant in public schools. Teachers have tutorials twice a week. Special programs like transitions, RIE and content mastery are made for children who need extra help but are still average intelligence. The difference is that public schools have specialists for each subject. That's better than one person with no training trying to do it all.
@kait-017513 жыл бұрын
@strangementalitypaper respectfully, you have an incomplete understanding of homeschooling. Also, the empirical evidence of homeschooled students after graduation does not agree with your claim. But in all fairness are you able to support your claim that homeschooled children will struggle as young adults with gaps in their fundamental education? I would encourage you to take a deep look at what education really is and how it can be obtained. The institution of schooling is only one way and it's where most of us get our assumptions from (I certainly had them!) The possibilities of education are actually so beautiful and vast and begins with pulling apart our subconscious assumptions.

@@kait-01751 "I would encourage you to take a deep look at what education really is and how it can be obtained." I have an M.Ed. (Masters of Education Degree in Teaching.) I've known several young adults who were homeschooled. I've seen their poor grammar, social setbacks and lack of communication skills. I've taught former homeschool students. I don't base my "claims" off assumptions. I base them off years of experience. I'm currently teaching a formerly homeschooled student, and... goodness.
@TheFromScratchFarmhouse2 жыл бұрын
I would say that the biggest thing to remember is that what you may consider the main objectives during that period of time in a child's life clearly don't match up with mine and many other homeschooling parents. I don't see much value in having my kids memorize pointless facts or many of the other things that are valued in the public school system. I've learned that I value teaching morals, Christianity, a love of learning, real life skills, cooking, gardening, entrepreneurial skills, and personal finance, among many others that are not taught in public education. If any of my children wish to pursue a career where high level math or sciences are required, they will be aptly prepared and able to pursue this on their own. I actually have a collage degree and feel it was a huge waste of my time and money. To each their own.
