I think it's an homage to an old Bugs Bunny cartoon, wherein he tricked another character into believing that there was an awesome party inside the oven, wherein the other character was trying to cook Bugs before eating him. It worked, but he felt bad, so he went back, opened the oven, and found a large, successful party that physically could not fit inside the oven was, indeed, happening inside the oven. So, he joined them.
