We just got home with the new Clydesdale mares and it’s time to get them settled in after the long drive so they can rest up. If you haven’t seen the first video where we pick them up and explain the older mares situation make sure to check it out here ➡️
Beauty us a black, registered 5 year old mare. Trained to drive and ride. Luna aka Blue Moon is an older mare, 15 to 20 who is having some hoof issues. She was diagnosed with severe thrust/canker. The owner has been taking care of her the best he can but has had some life changes and can no longer put the time and care in to her that she needs. He has asked us if we would home her and take over the care. We have decide to purchase the 5 year old mare ourselves and he is giving us the older mare in hopes she can heal. We do not know if surgery is necessary at this point but we plan to take her to our equine vet asap and figure all that out
