Technology isn't so bad we have the capability to solve and make things better. If it wasn't for technology I wouldn't be educated in different diseases and misunderstandings, I learned how to make my own clothes, what ingredients to look for in skincare, and so much more. You can learn so much more things too. It's not all bad. If you really want to be closer to living something similar to this, but live in an apartment you have enough space to grow some of your own herbs, instead of buying an expensive washing and drying machine or saving up some change to go to the laundry mat just get a galvanized washboard and a drying rack from amazon. I'm a new mom and I wash all my clothes this way. No machine required. I live in a house so I'm lucky to be able to grow my own fruits and vegetables. Best part about manually washing my own clothes I use that same water to water all my fruits, vegetables, and native plants around my house. So nothing gets wasted. There are many other things you can do too. You don't need to have a house to live close to this. The beauty about technology is that once you see it you can learn and begin your journey into actually doing it. Not just be wishing about it.

This is my favorite video when I’m feeling lonely and all alone. My Mom and Dad have passed on and it’s just me left behind as an only child. My Mother was born and raised in Alaska and she grew up without any electricity or running water and they grew everything in the garden and hunted and fished for their meat. My Mom used a wood burning stove with her 14 brothers and sisters for many things. Heating,cooking, being the primary of course. I wish I could spend a couple of days in these ladies company, learning my way around the different foods and recipes that I saw in the video. I am mesmerized with the song being sung and the lovely guitar playing. Like Heaven on earth.

It’s a good feeling to know you’re doing something the same way people in a different era did. I’m an artist and my favorite media is oil paints. It’s intriguing to entertain the thought that I’m using painting techniques similar to those used by Van Gough, Michelangelo, and other famous painters centuries ago. I find solace in the fact that I’m smelling that same warm, rich oil paint aroma that they did. Modern acrylic paints to me are too cold, runny, dry too fast and they smell like pure chemicals. They don’t compare to the comforting richness of oils. It’s like reading an old book; taking in the smell of the old yellowed paper and ink, hearing the spine crackling as you open it, reading it’s time-honored story. It’s an experience that is appealing to all the senses.

Pamela Kline you hit the nail on the head
@colinkelley64937 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with what Pamela said. I can't say it any better. But I want to add something. Many years ago I catered for a rock and roll concert in California which featured Neil Young and also the Eagles. I cooked most of that meal at my home on a wood burning stove. I was a college kid, but I had a large garden and a Chinese Catering Business. I was on stage behind the curtains when Neil Young sang that song for the first time. It was pure magic. You could hear a pin drop. My wife and I were crying. The lady singing this song understands this song from the heart and somehow sings it better than Neil Young did that night. It was just beautiful. She took me back forty years. I am crying again. I am a manly man, and don't cry. This may be the most beautiful and touching KZbin video I have ever seen! You nailed IT. You are not selling wood stoves, but family, and family virtue, and a lifestyle -- actually deep and abiding love. Seeing all three generations of your beautiful family sit down to this wonderful meal really touched me. I can remember a year we only spent $40.00 on food for the whole year, and that included the catering business. There is no feeling on earth like feeding a bunch of people you love a gourmet meal they are going to remember for the rest of their lives from food you raised on your own land, and cooked on a wood burning stove with wood you cut and seasoned yourself. Cooking is a means to an end, not an end in itself. The essence of all good cooking is love. I cannot remember the dishes I cooked for that concert. But I can remember all the love I put into it. After the concert was over, the Eagles were talking as they packed up. "We really clicked tonight. Why? What happened?" Then they looked at me. "It was the food." They felt the love.

We were snug and warm thanks to the stove. She needed to be tickled every ten minutes or so. I was not rushed. The food turned out fantastic. My daughter danced at the concert and loved the music. My mom use to heat water up on ours and I would take a bath near the stove in one of those old tin tubs. They had different sizes & she had a bread warmer to which was up on top where you kept your plates to keep them warm. People need to go back to those stoves I would like to see how the Energy companies would take that.😁😄😆.Oh and the ovens on those stoves baked the best pies, breads, cobblers & cakes. We had all cast iron cookware. Hazel Stoves was the name of the company that made that brand.

When I was a kid my grandmother used to make bread in a wood stove. best bread I ever had!! she churned her own butter too. That's old school.!!

Love it! Penelope still hand milks her cow, and churn her own butter (you might catch a glimpse of that in our Heritage video), fresh butter on bread fresh out of the oven is bliss!

I love "Harvest Moon". It's one of those songs that just immediately put you in a better place and good memories come flooding in. Thank you, Penelope, for singing. The stove is awesome too :)

I really like how the wood stove is positioned. Beside the sofa with tiled concrete barrier to protect the seat. It would be wonderful to do reading there. Flanked by sleeping grandkids 💝💕

Gave me wonderful memories of my grandmother. Her wood stove was a bit bigger and I do not remember the brand but it was magical to me as a kid. Yes these are definitely wonderful stoves. If I were healthy enough I would give up my electric stove and get one of these.

Loved your video showing the high quality cook stove available in your country, wish it was available in my State of Washington. The meal prepared by the lady folks looked very good, best of two worlds, a great stove and women who know how to cook can't beat that.

The lady singing has the most beautiful voice. I buy that song of hers she is singing . Put it on CD. Send it to me . She has the most beautiful voice. I love the song. I have never heard it.
