How did the earliest members of the modern human species get here? Who did we evolve from? How did we live? Where did we live? And what helped us become the dominant species - and the only member of the Homo genus - on the planet? In today's video, we will be exploring all these topics and more in great detail. Examining the world during the Pleistocene and the way our ancestors managed to exploit and thrive in it are key to understanding the mysteries of our own origin. Sit back and relax as we take you on tour to meet our ancestors - the early Homo sapiens of the Pleistocene.

It’s very fascinating to think we should be living in a world full of very diverse and large megafauna right now, but it’s all been stunted by humans since only about 300,000 years back. We basically cut the top and middle off of the food chain, and only its lower third actually exists now. Even that is threatened. Next time you’re driving, and you look in the direction of some wild field, hillside or tree line… remember our world should be filled with a hugely diverse ecosystem, with many amazing and terrifying examples of great megafauna. All gone because of us. Climate change played a major role as well obviously. But without humans, the rest of life would still have been far greater in diversity, and able to adapt accordingly.

I enjoyed the scope of this video. Not only where we came from, but where we are headed. We have the advantage of the capability to predict the consequences of our actions and choices. It's really up to us, today, to determine our future.

We are not up for the challenge. We simply aren't evolved enough yet. We are going to have to try again after this next mass extinction, which we have a big hand in causing. Existence is asking us to take responsible stewardship of our environment. We responds by killing it in order to make money. Existence is asking us to manage our population; we respond with fervent anti-abortionism. Existence is asking us to understand out place in the cosmos; we respond with Iron Age, even Stone Age belief systems. Existence is asking us to care for our fellow humans; we respond with genocides. Don't sugarcoat it with Polyanna optimism; the truth is that we haven't learned simple, fundamental principles that would insure our future existence. Or maybe our predatory genetics is standing in the way. Or both. And we will face the same mass extinction event that we are forcing on all the rest of life on this planet. Have a nice day - and, if you can remember - show some compassion to a fellow human today. Take some small action that reverses the flow, and sets us on the path of compassion, realism, and responsibility. Your life, or your descendants' lives may depend on it.

We brought our 1 month old son to Dr for checkup, the Dr puts his thumbs in my son's palms and rubbed, them quickly pulled his arms straight up, to my shock my son was hanging on with ease, then the Dr swings back and forth and he hung on casually, I was stunned to see how natural he swung, to me it says a lot about our origins.
