All I can say is that I have been on both sides and it is better to be out of the gay lifestyle than in it, and better to have a relationship with Jesus than not. And I am kind of grateful that when I got saved, no one was trying to explain that the two are compatible.

@@Axisearth Jeez, this is old. Been a while; you'll have to give a point and I'll deal with it individually. I'll start from what I remember, roughly; He tried to draw a broken link between homosexuality and an increased rate of observed (and very real) negatives. The issue was that he wasn't drawing an necessary link that demonstrated that homosexuality was the cause, nor that opposing it would have even decreased those things in any meaningful or healthy way. When dealing with things like homosexual depression, a good place to start is to deal with the families that ostracise them with hypocrisy. That's but one cause, not homosexuality its self. Same thing with increased substance-abuse; it's no wonder why the abused turn to coping mechanisms, this isn't even a 'homosexual' thing, it's a wide-spread human reaction. Ironically, or, perhaps, wilfully and intentionally, this video series is, directly, contributing to the problems that it blames homosexuality for. It is the problem. It would have been like saying 'we should ban cars because car-crashes happen' or 'we should ban food because people choke'. Senseless. This stuff is, incredibly, remedial, to the point where I don't believe that he's, honestly, acting in good-faith. You ought to be able to break-down his points with but a few hours of research into argumentation and logical reasoning.

@@Capybarrrraaaa I can understand some of your points. I am a therapist and 8 out of 10 women I counsel have PTSD because their fathers raped them. I almost hate getting a new referral for a woman because sexual molestation from heterosexual men is off the charts. I have never ever counseled a woman or man who was sexually abused by same sex parent in all my 20 years as a therapist. But ultimately I do believe in the numbers regarding the amount of sexual partners many gay men have and you could use the argument that they are depressed and act out because their relationships are not recognized as valid. But that still does not make it not sinful. People who chose to deliberately live in sin suffer it's consequences. 100%

Of course, that carries physical health risks, but so does eating food, in the same way. There are healthy and unhealthy ways to go about promiscuity. Whether it is sinful or not is a different question, which I'll address at the end. That's irrelevant to the fact that the claims of the video are incorrect, despite the accurate data. It is not the homosexuality that produces promiscuity, and I can say that from first-hand experience; I'm a gay man who's uncomfortable with (myself partaking in, specifically) polyamory. I, only, want a monogamous relationship and nothing about my homosexuality speaks for or against that. The reasons for these, agreeably bad things, evidently, lays outside of 'gayness'. They cannot be addressed by criminalising gay people. As for 'sin'. You won't find a valid reason to appeal to the Bible for anything like that. I'm sorry to say, but there is no reason to look towards it, and any reason you can think of will be, equally, applicable to countless other, mutually-exclusive, religions. Ones which, no doubt, you deny the 'realness' of. You must accept them all or drop the reason, lest you hold hypocrisy a virtue. Even outside of that, 'living in the consequences of sin' isn't even the problem for gay folk. Like I said; the problems can be, demonstrably, shown and explained to be caused by others acting unto them. Especially caused by the religious. One would think that god would make the consequences more direct than being setup by frivolous, countless, contradictory belief systems, no? Does that not strike you as odd that the issues of these, supposed, 'problems' are, themselves, caused by the religious and not by the, so-called, sin itself? One would expect homoerotic thoughts and masturbation to cause the issues, directly, if they were sin, no? One would, also, expect the 'sin' to break-through any protective measures, condoms and the like. To, really, draw this reasoning out; does god not consider homosexual intercourse sinful when adequate hygiene and protection is practiced? The safety, then, sky-rockets to 'heterosexual monogamy' levels, after all. Even from the Christian perspective, it doesn't seem like god takes an issue with homosexuality. He doesn't extend those, supposed, consequences to safe gay sex, at least. You'd have to, either, accept that god has no issue with homosexual intercourse when practiced safely, or that he's weaker than some thin polyurethane. I hope you can see-through these glaring holes with modern Christianity. Its own logic muddles itself. If you, honestly, think "People who chose to deliberately live in sin suffer it's consequences. ", you, really, have to question why my boyfriend and I aren't seeing these 'consequences'.

@ Mike Winger, instead of comparing homosexuality with incest, I would compare it to adultery. It use to be illegal now isn't. It is between 2 consenting adults. Yet people can get hurt in the process. No one says you are an adultraphobe and are more than happy to judge. I am divorced. I acknowledge it is a sin and is not what I wanted but it is legal. I am very looked down on because of it and have had to analyze a lot of mistakes and repent (I am not an innocent victim). We live in a sinful world and are all sinners. My favourite argument against sexual identity bondage is the requirements of following Jesus. Jesus said "if anyone desires to come after me, let him first deny himself, then take up his cross and follow me". The first requirement is deny yourself. In sexual identity bondage it is the exact opposite of that. It is to embrace the self, to make that the core of your identity and to act according to it's desires. As Christians, our identity is in Christ, we deny ourselves, die to the self and don't act according to our fleshly desires. It is the power of Christ to not live according to the flesh and it's desires. How can there be salvation without repentance? The message of Christs herald John was "repent and be baptized". Christ came and said, "repent and believe". Jesus clearly taught that sin and destruction were connected. He said "in the same way, you too will die if you don't repent".

Apparently self consciousness and depression are indistinguishable in the human brain. They measure the same and have the same effects to the brain. So it turns out denying yourself is actually a good way to ward off depression. And it's not a coincidence that people that talk about their identity have such how rates of depression. What intrigued me was that the pastor had to explain extremely basic and fundamental concepts as if he were talking to children. I think a lot of times even grown adults need to be talked to like children because people just won't listen. "Is it ok to blaspheme God if two consenting adults do it?" I have recently come across this series and wanted to give a shout out to all those who come across this series to pass it on to the confused people you know. Truth truly sets us free. Only those who have been born again and receive the gospel of righteousness, repent of their sin, and turn to follow Christ's example are able to embrace and know true freedom. Praise Him for He deserves all praise and glory! God is good, and we need to tremble before Him - for no one is good except Him. All He asks is that we turn from our sin and seek His forgiveness. Is that too much to ask for redemption, reconciliation and eventual restoration to perfection? Every person alive today is broken and in need of a Savior.

Not quite the simplest questions, but important indeed. 3. Does god exist? This is probably gonna take some personal soul searching on your behalf, but here's how I came to the realization that he does. First I will ask, "Is there a meaning to life? Is there any reason I exist?". Effectively this question is yes or no. If we assume the negative, then everything is random, nothing happens for a reason, we all die in the end and none of it will ever or has ever mattered. Every murder or transgression is effectively 0, same as every good deed. In the grand scheme of things. Some people choose to go down this path, but for me, it is a dead-end. Okay, so let's try to assume the affirmative. Then what does it mean for something to have meaning? I would argue that it would involve some sort of 'deliberation' or 'intent'. A plan of some kind maybe. It would only be logical that if life has meaning, we can assume this meaning comes from the design of some entity. So we call this entity God, essentially. But you're right, unless you have a personal religious experience, I guess you can never really know for sure which path to take. That's were belief comes in I guess.. I believe that life has meaning. From that assumption I can gather that someone or something must have given it meaning somehow, i.e. GOD. Now for 1 and 2, which I feel go hand-in-hand somewhat. The attributes of perfection and goodness, is essentially something that we get from the bible. One could imagine that the creator of the universe simple pushed some sort of button and set everything in motion, but that would essentially leave us with the same conclusion as the path of "everything is random". So as mentioned, the deliberation of the unfolding of time and the universe is something only an omnipotent entity would be capable of. But the concept of Good and Evil is very complex. It's easy to fall for the basic human yearning for comfort as "goodness", but how do we know that be the ultimate goodness? No matter how much fun and happiness you have in your life, there will always be something missing in the end. You will still die. If you lived for those pleasures and based all of your purpose on that being "good" then I think it's quite shortsighted of you. Pursuing that kind of hedonism, in my opinion, is not comparable, to the comfort of knowing and following the will of our creator, and then being received into his presence after we die, to know the meaning of it all. (That last part assume Christianity is right, but if you realize there's a God, and take an honest look at the history of the world and look for places where god might have made contact, then Christianity becomes obvious, IMO. Again, personal soul searching. The resurrection of Jesus Christ would be a good place to start. Mike (the channel we are on), actually has a nice playlist for evidence for the bible.) Long story short, God is essentially the definition of "Good" to us. And we read the Bible in that understanding. "An agent who maximizes the wellbeing of the world around them." I think I addressed this somewhat above, but this is essentially Hedonism. It's not really "wrong", but there is no human who knows what actions will "maximize the wellbeing of the world". We can attempt to ease suffering and make life enjoyable, sure, but humans are imperfect and therefore can't represent what "good" means. Sometimes we might be on the right track, and I think "maximizing wellbeing" is a good start most of the time. I just concede, as a Christian, that God's will is always better and more perfect (because he has the foreknowledge to know every outcome), and therefore wish that his will be done. And I believe that Gods promise of meaning and eternal life, is closer to "Good" than any worldly pleasure I might want in this life. A lot of times atheist get stuck on stories such as the Book of Job and give critiques such as "If God is good, how could he have allowed this to have happened?". To know the answer to that question is to assume to place of God, which is impossible. But that being said, the reason for suffering, I think, is to add weight to the worship of god. If we lived in a world with no suffering, it would produce a kind of hollow praise. If God wanted to, couldn't he just make us his robots and force us to worship him no matter what? Why is it then that we have the option to stray from god? Only God knows, but I think it has something to do with overcoming suffering and living through it, that life is worth it, despite the pain. Most people in the world, for most of history, have been living in absolute misery, more than happiness. Why shouldn't they just have killed themselves? Are they droning on aimlessly to keep reproducing the next generation, because they are evolutionarily inclined to do so? I believe it's because life has meaning and therefore is worth living. And it has meaning because of God. "Which is what you do too. You choose to follow the morality as the Bible lays out because you believe it to be moral. If the Bible instructed you to murder children, would you do it?" That's an unfair proposition. You just asked if the Bible said something you just made up, with absolutely no connection to God, if I would do it. The whole point of the Bible is that it is the inspired word of God. Funnily enough though, God has instructed the murder in a sort of similar way, in the story of Abraham and Isaac. I won't repeat it here, but the point of that story is, that if God commands something, there's a good purpose behind it. In the case of Abraham and Isaac, it would be to test Abraham and therefore bless his seed and in the end that the salvation of mankind one day could come into the world. The theology of that story is really rich. Abraham mentions that God himself will provide a lamb, and then later in the story it is told that a ram is stuck in a thicket, and Abraham uses that for the burnt offering. But why did Abraham mention a lamb then? What did John the Baptist first say when he saw Jesus for the first time? John 1:29 "The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." (an outcome not even the Jews could have known. No one but God could have known). I see the connection, and I'm glad that Abraham followed Gods commandment. If he was an atheist we would probably all be damned. "In concordance with reality. It's claims should be peer-reviewed." Well it is. But it was honestly more of a curious point, as "bs interpretation" is probably as vague as you can get. An interesting question might be "How did the Jews know who were prophets or what was the word of God". Well it started with Moses right? He wrote down the ground rules for it. The Jewish people believed him because he literally split the seas and did things only a man of God would be able to do. Can we ever know if that really happened? Well if it was just a big lie, then how come the Jewish tribe followed him for 40 years in the desert after that? It wasn't captured in 4K, I'll give you that, but honestly, what can you expect at this point? This was what, nearly 3000 years ago? And the Jews didn't think they would have to prove it to anyone. Their religion was exclusive they thought, until Jesus came along and confirmed the entire OT. Once again, I'd recommend watching that playlist, but the fact that Jesus confirmed the scriptures is also reaffirming. And if you're thinking Jesus didn't exist or didn't get raised from the dead, then I'd honestly just say, look at the evidence for it again. And honestly. "Ah yes. Because you have such a monopoly on meaning. "God told me too" is far more rewarding than working for the betterment of those you love, isn't it?" I would say this was addressed in the first answer. My child just went through 6 months of agony being poisoned in order to rid their body of cancer. By the logic of many, it was unloving to allow that. The word "Bigot" is now just a buzzword, and almost exclusively misused. It hasn't even been redefined, but has been rendered meaningless. Whenever someone says "_____ are bigots" insert Christians, or any large general group, that is in itself a very bigoted statement. "Hate" has likewise become a buzzword, and a misnomer. Many in the media; all types of media, online information sources, etc, have always done this, but it certainly feels like it's reached a fever pitch.

The bible orders that you be prejudiced against or antagonistic towards a person or people on the basis of their membership of a particular group. Therefore, Christian (as an unmodified noun) is a bigoted person by default. When you clarify your position to disagree with the hatred in the bible, you might then become less of a bigot. A true Christian is a bigot, deviating from Christianity may make you not one. You may feel that it's a "buzzword", but it's the definitions that matter.

Hi Mike, thanks very much for your teaching, it's very informative and hugely enlightening. Just a couple of things, breast cancer is not high in the Lesbian community because of Lesbianism. It is high because women that haven't had children are more likely to get breast cancer than women that have had children and breast fed. And in contrast, women that have had children are more likely to get cervical cancer than women that have not had children. Lesbians are also in a very low risk category with regards to cervical cancer and this is because they do not engage in heterosexual intercourse.

@@krustysurfer I understand doubting ones salvation. The only thing I can tell you (and myself in those moments) is have a very firm understanding of your salvation. That you did nothing to earn it. It does not depend on you one little bit. And that's the best news and hope we can ever have in these moments. There is a lot of voices in the wind that try and tell us we can lose our salvation or that we were never truly saved. And I would ask one question...what is the helmet of salvation? It's part of our spiritual armor. meaning we are in a war. If Satan can get us to doubt our salvation he can have a field day with us. Obviously this does not mean we don't keep fighting the battles. I know that my salvation the only part of it that I have to do with it is me acknowledging that I'm a sinner and asking God to have mercy on me as a sinner and pleading the blood of Jesus upon my sins and my very sinful nature. The doubt is the effect of sin upon my life, I know others have sinned more than me and I know others have sinned less than me sin is not comparison or a comparison to other people other sinners but my standard is Jesus God pure holiness and when I compare myself to that standard I fall miserably short and have no comfort in my walk as a supposed Christian I feel like a counterfeit a fake a wannabe in my walk I definitely feel the filthy rags that I wear my sin nature is very strong and I do not resist temptation very well I've been very good at being bad throughout my life I know Jesus is the only answer to my dilemma and that God has mercy upon me has mercy upon my soul on my rebellious prideful arrogant sinful soul. I know that me getting into heaven will have nothing to do with how I lived my life accomplishments or lack thereof only by God's grace will I enter into heaven I suppose I will be in the least of these lot and as Mike has said I would like to hear well done good and faithful servant instead of I never knew you and be spat out of his mouth into eternal darkness that is my greatest fear and I guess that I'm not the only one who goes through this internal tribulation. Mike somewhat skipped over part of one man's question, regarding when people ask why we single out homosexuality and talk about it so much. I would say the answer is multi-faceted. 1. Some people who profess to be Christians really *are* hateful and bigoted, and that's why they talk about homosexuality more than other sins and prop it up as being worse than other sins 2. However, it's worth asking this: do Christians *really* talk about this more than anything else? Or is it just that this is the thing that makes headlines and gets blown up, because it's such a contentious issue? Because I know, as someone who has been a Christian my whole life and gone to many different churches, I actually feel like we very, very rarely see this issue preached on. 3. Perhaps the really we do see Christians talking about this issue a lot is not because it's a worse sin, but because it's so widespread, widely accepted, and damaging. People are making their sexualities their entire identities now, and homosexuality is more accepted now than ever before in history, as far as I can observe. So it makes sense that, like Jesus and the disciples and apostles did, we are going to hone in on the issues that are most relevant in our time. Just as Jesus didn't need to speak to Jews of his time about homosexuality, we don't need to speak to people of our time about, say, rape and murder being wrong. We do, however, need to address the issues where sin is being not only accepted, but praised and glorified. Homosexuality happens to be one of those issues, and it's one that is very deeply ingrained into the way a person views their entire identity, which can be a huge stumbling block for them. Much more so than, say, someone watching pornography, which they recognize is just a behavior. They don't see that as their identity. That's one key difference.

It's also funny to me that people act like Christians are the ones obsessed with talking about LGBT stuff. The whole WORLD is obsessed with talking about LGBT stuff! It's shoved in our faces 24/7. I was just telling my husband "I can't wait til pride month is over, so I don't have to see pride commercials 24/7 every time I watch TV." And then I realized that it's July 21st. Pride month has been over for almost an entire month. It's just still being shoved in our faces every second, from every angle. So no, Christians are not the ones who are making this issue the most relevant and prominent issue of our time. I would love nothing more than for this to be something we don't really even need to talk about, because everyone already knows it's wrong. It wasn't brought up much in certain regions of Biblical teaching, because in those regions, they already knew it was wrong and weren't supporting it. So it didn't need to be talked about. As long as people, especially Christians, and excepting, endorsing, and praising LGBT identities, this message from Christian pastors will be relevant and necessary.

I talk about it a lot. Yet I have never introduced the topic without. Either the other person brings it up or it is depicted in someway. So number 3 is correct. Number 1 happens after someone breaks under the pressure of too much of it being pushed on them. I saw an activist one day wearing a shirt that said "times are changing" with rainbow paint being poured on the globe. Kicking a hornets nest isn't a good way to convince people, yet that is what this activist chose to do. It's very unfortunate, but I have seen first hand the reaction to them turn to hate where none existed before the activists arrived.

As a Christian whose done a lot of research on this I agree with almost everything you said but will point out some important extraneous variables. When talking about if homosexuality is genetic you should note that a huge percentage of gays were sexually abused as kids and most came from broken homes. This adds some ambiguity on gays being more likely to molest their own kids because are we seeing homosexuality make someone more likely to molest their kids or are we seeing being molested being more likely to make you gay and a molester (and probably an addict at well)? Suppose mom and dad have a son and daughter, get divorced, the mom takes the girl and dad takes the son: if mom has 3 boyfriends in the next year and dad has 30 boyfriends even if being gay doesn't make any individual more likely to molest a child it is far more likely that the son will be molested than the daughter. Simply asking kids raised by gay parents if a parental figure molested them also doesn't account if the dad molested the daughter and the mom left, took the girl, and hooked up with another woman. Comparing kids raised by gays to kids raised by straights isn't completely fair because 95% of kids raised by gays have gone through a divorce while most kids raised by married straight couples are haven't and we know that divorce is likely to make kids depressed/ suicidal/ abuse substances etc. A fairer comparison would be kids whose parents got divorced and remarried either hectro or homosexually. So far there's no evidence for a gay gene but suppose there is. There's a lot of genes that can be dormant and activated by drug use like genes for paranoia that get activated by pot, so what if drug use activates the gay gene. That might also explain why gays are more likely to be addicts because it could be that addicts are more likely to be gay. Having far higher rates of STD's could well be a cause for depression/ suicide. Overall you can absolutely prove that gays and kids raised by gays have far higher problems in all the areas of life the pastor mentioned and far more. You can rule out 'homophobia' as being the main factor for gay community dysfunction since it doesn't change much if you compare America to Denmark which was the first country to legalize same-sex marriage about 30 years ago. If however, Someone who was desperate to justify homosexuality could sanely argue that being molested makes you do drugs which makes you promiscuous which causes STDs which causes depression/ suicide in either straight or gay couples and homosexuality is a harmless byproduct being dragged along for the ride. I wouldn't consider this wise but I wouldn't be able to disprove that with the studies I've seen so far. Also, the idea of classifying relationships as straight or gay is misleading since the Biblical approach is that men and women think/ act differently therefore two women living together would be very different than two men living together which is exactly the case if you can find research that thought to separate the categories.

It’s so hard to raise teenagers right now. My beautiful daughter....I can only say Jesus raised her since he was so busy while she was growing up saving me and I was out of the game. And I look back and see how little I did and wonder how she turned out so kind, so sweet, never needing much discipline because she loves so fiercely that she obeys her lousy mom with a smile even when I know she’s annoyed. I just love her so much. I might not know how to raise her right but I just know I love her. And now I can see her standing in this storm. Temptation is dangling around her head everywhere and I just want to grab her and pull her into our refuge, our home, and lock the doors. Every time I think this Jesus says no. And I cry. What’s my job, I’m still not sure, still waiting for all the answers but so far I know my job is to hold her when she cries and be gentle and soft the way Jesus is with me. And when the world tries to convince this little girl that was boy crazy at six that she’s really a lesbian ...every time I’ve went to step in front of her and defend, Christ has held me back with a muzzle. So I pray and watch and wait....it’s agonizing. My desire for an instant fix is like overwhelming. But can I fix her? Am I capable? Only Jesus. And since I know he raised her up more than I ever did, should I really worry? After all he knows her and has her there is no doubt. Sometimes Jesus calls us to stay out of the way.

There are different types of love. In the Old and New Testaments the writers reflected this by using different words for the various types. These are examples from the New Testament original Greek: Agape - Godly love, charity, dear, love, love feast Agapao - Social, neighborly love in a moral sense Eros - Love, as between a husband and wife in the physical sense Philadelphia - Brotherly love, love of the brethren Phileo - Love as a friend or be fond of Thelo or ethelo - Wish for, prefer, delight in or desire (There are more, but these are some of the best examples I found.)

Speaking on Galileo, I believe Pastor Mike's interpretation was incorrect at 44:30 . A whole host of people and books got in trouble with the Church for promoting heliocentrism, Galileo and his heliocentric books included. The Church (Catholic, in this case) has indeed done some horrible things in the name of defending doctrine. If I am incorrect about Galileo and the Church, however, please refer me to some credible references so I may learn more. This inconsistency made me start questioning some of the other defenses, but I've found conflicting opinions in research. However, on the whole, I have found this series well thought out and carefully assembled. At the least, the pastor's thoughts are good food for thought and describe how to love with boundaries of Biblical right and wrong IMO.

I have a question, and hopefully someone can tell me if anyone sees this comment, but I was wondering, on the statistics of molestation and abuse of children in same sex homes/same sex parents, are those numbers made higher from actually growing up in those homes? Or altogether higher before and after being adopted and placed? Because I know that lots of children who suffered abuse were taken out of abusive homes and then put into foster homes or adopted by same sex couples. So it’s possible that the stats are higher because the children in same sex homes have already suffered the abuse. Right?

It sounded like the study didn't measure that. So I believe your correct that the number would be higher do adoption since we are dealing with percentages. Unfortunately it isn't a topic your allowed to study so good luck finding better numbers. A point to note is that most homosexuals are exposed to sexual behavior much younger then heterosexuals. Many times this comes in the form of abuse. Those that are abused as children are far more likely to repeat the behavior as adults. So I would expect a higher rate from that alone, but we need better data rather then assumptions.

At 50:00 Mike talked about the different treatments society can give things. It was completely true. Before the Obergefell decision by the US Supreme Anarchists homosexual "marriage" was left alone. It was the middle thing on that spectrum. People are spreading an inaccurate description when they say Obergefell "legalized" homosexual marriage. 2 people of the same sex could have had a big public ceremony and call each other husband and husband or wife and wife (which would have been grammatically inaccurate) and been at zero risk of any punishment.

Ive been confused as a kid why i wasn't as big as the other guys. i had low confidence, i was a mommy's boy! But by the grace of God i decided to be what i am at birth a MAN and realize feelings mental-emotional things that really at the root is a spirit of confusion and heartbreak caused me to think i needed love from homoerotic porn, but its effects were devastating. Most times when gender dysphoria desists the person then identifies as gay. So they are different but it's undeniable that they are looked and share many of the same emotions. Curious, is there anything in the video that you think doesn't apply to transgenderism?

@@viperstriker4728 ​ first of all...the dysphoria doesn't ""desist"...its lifelong. ...and the emotions are in no way the same. Sexual orientation and gender identity are 2 very different things. The Bible never specifically addresses being transgender. It only addresses homosexuality. Eunuchs are mentioned but not quite the same....usually that was forced. The Talmud actually addresses trans and gender issues though. Feel free to websearch Sefaria: Six Sexes and Gender Expression. Yes its extra-biblical, but shows that people of that time understood what transgender is and that it isn't a new or invented thing.

@@velvetvideo I don’t quite understand why the concept of eunuchs being “basically the same” to trans people is so accepted. (I’m not saying that’s what you said precisely, but what you said did remind me of many discussions I’ve seen.) While yes, there is a similarity in the destruction of… well, certain parts… the context is extremely different. “Eunuch”, in most if not all ancient contexts, basically described a servant of a ruling power who had his bits tampered with so that he could never sire a child and have an heir to use for usurpation purposes. Trans people don’t (typically) go through reassignment surgeries just to not have kids; it’s to match who they think they are on the inside (which I would argue is a sign of internalized sexism and harmful gender stereotypes for most young people these days, but can genuinely be medical dysphoria for others.) So this is a case of government function versus self-fulfillment. If you have other info that can correct me on the classical purpose of being a eunuch, I’m happy to read it, but I think there are a lot of people who have read modern sensibilities into ancient text just so that they can say “the Bible promotes transitioning!”

The way I look at it, morality is encoded into reality. God didn't tell us to do stuff for no reason. He is the creator, He knows how it's designed to work. Just like if you buy a tool and use it incorrectly, the results will be less then optimal. Even I see something in the Bible i have started to ask the question of why God might have said this. Of course God doesn't have to have a reason, but it's amazing how often I have seen one. And highlights ideas our culture has lost all together. Like how gender roles actually worked before feminism slandered them with the worst examples in history.

While Nixon's Henchmen (Chuck Colson) is known for having said (or repeated) a scary truth: "Never underestimate the human capacity to rationalize to its own ends." While another saying (and probably not verbatim here) is that we humans tend "...to condone the sins we're inclined to, by condemning the sins we've no mind to." All of which I think only demonstrates our sinful nature and our brokenness - and desperate need for forgiveness, redemption, and healing.
