9:40 I don’t know how you got it off so easily, I’ve tried and pulled with all of my might to pry it off, but it won’t budge. People keep saying to rotate/turn it, but it doesn’t move. Am I supposed to be in Park, Neutral, or etc? Am I supposed to have the e-brake on?

I just installed an axle on my 2005 Acura TL and i am worried about the gap as well. Maybe it will go in further as it drives? Hey Blue Collar Garage, any update on this? Did the gap get smaller as you drove?

You need to load the suspension prior to tightening the fork. The sleeve wasn’t seated on the strut. Also didn’t look like the shaft was seated correctly in the transaxle

The axle wasn’t seated all the way. Should be flush

SAMUELTHESIXTH.. just wondering.. if the gap should not be there.. how should it be forced it? I am a bit worried that I installed it wrong, but it looks exactly like how it is in this video.

@@StarG8Runner you can jack it up and loosen the axle shaft nut and take a mallet or small piece of wood and just tap on the shaft and see if it goes in anymore just make sure you don't mess up the threads. You can also take it for a quick spin and look underneath for leaks because if it's not seated all the way you will have some transmission fluid or oil leak coming from where the cv shaft went into the transmission

@@BLUECOLLARGARAGE Thank you for the reply. I ended up removing the axle and replacing that ring with the original (from old part) then adding some grease to keep it centred and hit the outside end with wood and a hammer and it went in flush! This video helped.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqSbh42Jnad1a80

If it's not seated all the way the risk is it will come out of the differential and leave you stranded. It must be all the way in and give you that satisfying click when the snap ring seats. This ain't me talkin' it's experience doin' the talkin'.
