Thanks for putting out this video. That ring in the gap tool is for setting your gap - it lets you gap without messing with your actual gauge part, and no pressure on electrode.

Thanks for putting this video together. My Acty is on order and I'm getting it in part to learn my way around an engine and challenge myself so these videos are great tools. I had a question though, why did you also not change the distributor cap/ distributor? Like I said, not mechanically inclined myself but in many of the kits the cap comes along with new seals in addition to the plugs/ wires you show here.

I had previously diagnosed those bad wires and honestly just had those reasy to go. I grabbed the plugs that weekend and decided to do a video. I had the distributor off before and the cap and rotor looked recently replaced so I didn’t order a new one. Those are obviously good tune up items as well.

Finally got my Acty in this month! Thx for this vid, Ron. Finished my plugs and wires today and your vid was a great help. Question for ya…what causes the engine to bog down when running heat/blower or headlights/brake lights? Yep, added a new battery when I got it off the Port of Freeport as the battery was dead…. Am I needing a new alternator?

Hey Jerry! Congrats on the purchase, good times ahead. Given those symptoms i would say alternator. Both issues are electricly driven it sounds so I would get the amp output checked on the alternator. Good luck!
