I love the old seventies bikes so stylish and timeless.

I owned one of these way back. It was the sweetest, smoothest, quickest bike anyone could ever ask for. Only draw back, it's fuel consumption was awful, and the carbies required balancing often. City riding was not too hot, the valves would get a build up of carbon on the stem, preventing them from opening fully when you wanted a high speed run. So you had to allow the revs to go high in normal ridding, otherwise she would cough and fart until carbon cleared. High tension leads needed extra care as well, the bakelight plug covers cracked easily and then when moisture got in the cracks she'd misfire and run on three cylinders only, took ages to find that fault. 200,000 K's later had to sell her. Sad, sad day.

My second bike was the 550/4, I wish I still had it. You have some amazing machines in your shop, at one point I wondered if it was a museum :)

Pretty bad when bikes from 50 years ago look better than modern day machines. Had a CB750K1 in this same candy garnet brown. A real beauty. Ride a '22 blue Z900RS and it looks great, but these 500's are something special. Oh yeah, bring back horns like these so we don't have to put up with the anemic ones they put on now.

Nicely restored and arguably the perfect size / power output for U.K.roads. Minor roads are badly maintained and 40% of the police force are engaged on major roads seeking easy convictions, as they don't have the get up and go (or whatever) to catch many serious criminals.

The most beautiful looking motorbike ever. Why oh why did I sell mine in 1975, oh yes I couldn't afford the £29 a month HP payments. How I would love to own that beauty in the video. In the meantime I will keep my 74 CB125 S1 running.

I had a cb-500. nice bike when she ran. Electrical system was a pain and people seemed to have this mania for stealing parts off of it.

I had the same bike in 1980. Cruising up and down the canyons near Boulder, CO is a treasured memory but the 500F would vapor lock and I had to pull over frequently to let it cool off. I'm sure it probably wasn't tuned properly.

I had the exact bike when I was sixteen. Same color, same pipes and seat. Wonder what this would sell for these days? Think I paid seven hundred Canadian for mine way back than. It was a few years old when I bought it.
Looks great, if I had the money I'd buy one. I'm sure my Raleigh striker had similar bar grips.

I had a 1976 Benelli 6 cylinder version of the CB500 Four a 750 sei; it seemed like it had an electric motor. It was not as reliable as my Honda's, though.

The pistons from a XL125 Honda will bolt into this cb 500 four .. the advantages the XL 125 Pistons have a high dome on them increasing the compression ratio of the cb500 four to around 11 to 1 with acceleration that of a 750
