I love it when people "need" a 600 or litre bike because their smaller bikes are just to slow... those guys need to watch some more of Schaafs videos :)

My CB500 wobbles a bit too. I thought something might be wrong with it but I guess that's just how they are! I've had mine for 2.5 years and touched a peg down for the first time last week. Only a little kiss but it felt good. Interesting to see that there's still a bit of tyre left by the time you're down that far, so that inspires a bit of confidence.

the CB you saw already has modified suspension even ;)

@@SchaafQuestion! What suspension do you suggest? brand/model. My dad's 23-year-old cb500 really _really_ needs new suspension. He is well above 100k mi ... ON THE ORIGINAL SUSPENSION
@graememorrison3339 ай бұрын
@@GeorgeTsiros Hagon are considered best (and is what the people who race thee bikes generally use) as you can specify the spring rate, but i have mid-level YSS on mine (as i prefer their looks). These have absolutely transformed the handling after the previous owner's Hagons had worn out. My CB has 110,000 miles on it (with a 70,000 mile engine) and although little things on it either fall off or need replacing occasionally, it still goes, accelerates, turns, bounces, and stops as it was designed to. (Yes - your dad's original Showa shocks definitely need to be replaced!)
@GeorgeTsiros9 ай бұрын
@@graememorrison333 Got him a pair of YSS. Thank you for taking the time to respond! Immortal CB.
@vyrnmn3 ай бұрын
@@graememorrison333 I put the YSS RG362 rear shocks on mine earlier this year. Stupid expensive (cost more than I paid for the whole bike back in 2020, but I'm in so deep now with having everything powder coated etc etc etc that I just figured "why not?") but REALLY good. Undoubtedly firmly in the realms of diminishing returns, but having all the compression and rebound adjustability has let me get it dialled in exactly how I like it, and it's absolutely brilliant.

Hello! Very like your videos, while a bit restoring cb500s plastic ( get a motorcycle in gift from my bro). Want to ask you: i read some books about riding on motorcycle some years ago, when i get high enthusiasm, and learn for licence on motorcycles - like Nik Ienatch, twists on the wrist, and so on - and there be texts, of that, when you close gas - motorcycle go lower, when you open it - it become higher, even on rear. when you are in a turn, on angle and scraping tarmac with your footpegs - open a throttle really make mc higher, and it stop scraping tarmac at that angle?
@Schaaf8 жыл бұрын
yes it will but I also use my body and hands on the bars in combination.
@janisciemgals76448 жыл бұрын
no, you misunderstand me. i want to say - it not change angle, but clearance. no a full gas overall motorcycle clearance be higher, than on closed gas. that's it? can you confirm that? also want to ask - what do you do, when hear, and feel the footpeg scratch tarmac? i found, in that situations o feel disappointed, and try a bit lift my foot from affected footpeg....that also make me discomfortable and try to make angle a bit less, when i strike tarmac with footpeg. you, looks like, do not bother it at all? but, if you scratch, and do angle more, then there is possible situation, when nonmovable detail introduce in contact with tarmac ( say, muffler), and that, make a lever, who take off weight from tyre - and introduce possibility of fall...?
