Thanks for the video. I did fit this to my bike about 1 month ago. I did add some gaffa on the inside of the little brackets on the handlebar to avoid scratching. And a little bycycle tube with zipties on the clutch and brake cables to avoid rubbing from vibrations :D. Have a nice day Sir.

Belt and braces! 👍 I might do similar if I ever get round to paintimg them. But ypu know how it is, if it ain't broke don't fix it. That's my (lazy) excuse 😁👍

Metal hand guards are really useful on the CB500x. I dropped mine within two weeks of ownership and thanks to the plastic Givi hand guards that came with the bike, I bent my brake lever. Cost me sixty chuffin quid to replace. I fitted Barkbusters, and I’m pretty confident next time I drop it my levers are protected. I’ve got Oxford heated grips and I wouldn’t be without them. Thanks for the vid, I can see you love your CB500x as much as I do mine, two months touring Scandinavia, 7000 miles and the bike has been perfect. 🙂✌🏻

I did same with my Africa Twin. Brake lever twisted like spaghetti, the Honda plastic guard just popped off. Since then it's been metal guards for me. Do Barkbusters clear the screen? They are usually my first choice. I just wasn't sure. Yes it's a solid bike. I have faith in it. 👍👍

Barkbusters fitted perfect, clear the screen no problem, although my bike is a 2020 model. I imagine it would be the same for a 22 bike as it’s the same screen and cockpit.

Good to know 👍👍 They are always my first choice.

Rather than pull the inner bar weights you should have just gotten a countersunk M6x60 bolt and saved a lot of bother. Try it. Keep the bar weights 😊

Classic TMJ CB! You started off well by RTFM (read the f***ing manual) but because of our 7 second memory you forgot what it said and fitted it incorrectly. You then had to work out how the manufacturer could have got their instructions so wrong! You then take it all apart and have to start all over again this time doing it properly. That is perfect TMJ behaviour and both Dave Doom & I are so proud of you. Never forget our old friend Fred Lock as everything seems to be designed to rattle apart these days. Keep those TMJ's coming, highly entertaining. KK 🤭😂🤣

Hm thinking maybe to paint the clamps to black also, would it look better? How does silver clamps look in real with all the rest being black on handlebars?

Personally it never bothered me. But it'd be easy to do. 👍

@@CodgerBiker Installed it. I think I may need that 20E extension, to have more wind protection, it is pretty modest now. Also do you have clutch cable clearance issues, seems also pretty tight on yours, where the clutch cable starts? Otherwise pretty good.

I never had an issues. Rode it for 1000s of miles. I no longer have the bike though as I traded it in for an NT1100. 👍
