At 0:55 Sorry guys... it was in 1978 when Honda released this CBX! I bought it in July of that year. Two years later I had crossed all of Europe (Northern Cape / Tarifa) and as far as East Asia Gürbulak. I had 56,000 Miles on the counter! The CBX is still in my possession. Until today I still drive it!

In 1970 I went from riding a Yamaha 100 to a Honda 750, it was a smooth riding monster! Still ride a Honda today and I just turned 70. Very nice presentation Sir!

At 2:47 that boggles my mind, because they have always looked like they were a way wider than other Honda's.

A friend of my sister bought one from Alvin’s Honda in Johnstown when they first came out. I was mesmerized by the audacity of a six cylinder bike and enchanted by the smooth sound of that engine.

No mention of the Kawasaki Z1300? Some guy used to wheelie one down my street around 1981 or so. It was shaft drive and liquid cooled. In some ways more advanced than the CBX. I knew people who had both. The CBX had more clout then and probably now.

I had a 954 back in 1979 and it was a rocket! My 6 banger 1967 Norton wouldn't even come close to the 954.

It would be great in a go cart chassis, or a Honda 600 with sequential transmission... that would be fun 😀

I had a friend in the 80s who took one of these and flipped the handlebars down. Did a few mods and did pulls up and down his street. I watched two guys do pulls and both were scared to do a second. I backed out. Maybe in part to the guys nickname "Liquid Wrench". That and you needed to do a 3 point turn because the bars hit the tank.❗ Cheers. 🇨🇦

@@CBX-en9lc Truth. I had two, an 81 and an 82. The earlier bikes had a slightly different exhaust camshaft profile. As a fellow CBX rider, you understand. The powerband was very smooth and flat. In my younger days, I rode the CBX, well both of them, to a friend's ranch in Oregon. Rode the 82 flat out on one trip. An experience I will always cherish. On arrival, I discovered that I had melted the underside of the right saddlebag. Going full afterburner for that distance had a cost. Loved it. I replaced that bag, it was sent to Marysville Ohio, where it was a trophy.

The bike is a joy to ride. Do not push her too hard in the corners, but broad sweepers are great. Great sound, I call it a poor man's Ferrari ,look at the wide tank, with the motor still jutting out either side. Not uncommon to have people pull you over to look, or take pictures when you are fuelling up.

in the same year,i got a 2 stroke yamaha L2,100cc and not a fire only a lot of smoke from manifold hahaha,but still can do 105kph

I had to take a Time Out (suspended license) on my 77 750 not riding like an idiot just not paying attention to the euphoria I can only imagine where the euphoria on a CBX would have taken me....
