Best daily driver I’ve had. For 32K you get amenities, good MPGs and of course it’s manual..can’t beat that!

Please consider adding more of these long term/ high mileage type reviews to your repertoire! One of the shortfalls of most car reviewers is that they don't cover long term reliability or use. Keep up the good work!

Hey Charlie, I bought my sport touring civic hatch back in June. Im now approaching 6k miles. I can say im a big fan of the car overall, however i do agree that the seat lacks cushion. Ive been on a few roadtrips and have needed to get out of the car more often due to the lack of cushioning. Also on another note, I sometimes wish I had got the manual. However the Cvt is one of the best ive driven, and i feel better suited for the power delivery of the 1.5 t. Anyways thats enough rambling, great video as always Charlie!

Thanks, and good to hear about the seat cushion. I mean, also not good, but you know what I mean.

Charlie, I already liked the Civic manual hatchback and started liking it more when Toyota dropped their 'civilian' Corolla manual hatch. Naturally, I would like the Civic hatch even more if it was a truly space efficient and boxy hatchback rather than a sloped liftback that too closely mimics the shape of the sedan. Like today's Accord, the Civic provides class-leading rear seat legroom but forgets tall passengers also need a place to put their head. 🤨

I have a Civic Touring Sedan, purchased back in March and have 7400 miles on it, so far i haven’t had any issues with the seat with a cushion so far but I know it’s purely subjective but I do wish there is lumbar support other than that I love the car. Do more long term reviews of cars if you can!

I’d be interested to hear your opinion on a 2.0L manual, like I have. But working for a Honda dealer as a service advisor, and owning a 24’ Sport Hatch Manual, I’d definitely not say it’s the best in class. I’m heavily looking at trading for a Mazda 3, because I’m getting sick of this car. Honda’s quality control has went completely downhill. The 1.5T is a relatively unreliable motor, and you’re guaranteed to have some kind of mechanical issue with it by 100k, whether it be direct injector failure, or a turbo failing around 100k, which we see often, or simply carbon buildup, they also like to burn oil due to the low displacement motor relying heavily on the high boost from the turbo to produce any power. The K20C2 2.0L which I have avoids that by being port injected and naturally aspirated, but is also a completely anemic motor, that likes to have leaky valve covers at sub 10k miles. The keyless entry has a mind of its own, and will unlock then quickly lock the car, and not allow you to unlock it unless you pull the key out. Along with the power steering also being completely messed up and binding at 2,000 miles on the dash. Look up power steering issues with new hondas, and you’ll see that the hrv, crv, and civic are all effected for the most part. Three guys where I work all drive 24 civics, two sports and one touring, all have the same binding power steering issue and there’s not even a part number being released yet to remedy this. I’m thinking a Mazda 3 Carbon Turbo Sedan will be the next move. Around $31,500 gets you a lot of car with that one.

Wow, that's great feedback! Yeah I've worried about recent Hondas as well. It's really a shame.

Thx for the comment on steering. I owned a ‘22 civic si and had the sticky steering issue which I presume is the binding issue you mentioned…correct? Was this not fixed in the 2024 model after the recall on 2022 and 2023? I wonder if the 2025 models will be affected as I’m about to buy a 2025 Si. Should I pass on that due to potential steering issues. Thx in advance for a reply.

I have had my sport touring for just over two years. Only 16.000 miles so not to much use. Have not noticed a problem with the seats. I never thought they were all that great anyway. But i like the car better than anything else out there.

Appreciate you detailing the interior for the video. I see so many Brand NEW vehicles the dealers are showing for sale and the floorboards are full of dirt and junk. It really bothers me for some reason, shows no respect for other people's future property. I'm talking my brother into getting this car but 2024.

Personally, I wish Honda would come out with a trim without power seats, power windows, etc. I think it could cut the cost by 4k. It's not hard to press a lever at the bottom of the seat and move it into position or to roll up the windows by hand. There is so much junk that car makers add just to jack up the price. It's fine for people who would rather pay an extra 4k so they don't have to roll up windows, but have a trim without it.

In past cars, I've just used a foam lumbar pad that wraps around the seat with elastic. Fixes the issue for $20 or less. Just my 2¢.

For the Acura Integra you must 91 or 93 octane. I would rather take the Honda with regular gasoline and the back pain.

Embarrassing cost cutting by Honda here to not have lumbar in a $32k Civic. I've never owned a normal car without lumbar, even my first car, an '85 Mazda 626, had lumbar.

Fun to say, as an older person that has watching thousands of hours of car reviews, at 10:05 I threw in the towel. Son, if you are going to take the easy way in life and rely on others for your income and approval - fuckin be good. Not a good review and zero interest in following your boring arse. Daily Motor should sell name to someone that actually gives a puck.
