My civic's power steering leaks & I just bought it (257k miles), so I'm going all out & replacing all of the fluid, lines, rack & pinion to be safe and cover all of my bases

You're replacing the line So just cut the line off at the fitting and use a socket Way easier

That is interesting idea, thanks for sharing! One concern I would worry about, getting shavings into the system, so would need to use a pipe cutter or something like side cutters.

@@justdoityourself Mine was impossible to bust loose with the wrench so i did exactly that. Cut the pipe and used my socket. I still had to put an extension pipe over my rachet to break the fitting loose. It was tight.

I think you are talking about power steering low pressure (return) line.

Are you sure the original p/s flare nut was a 22mm and not a 21mm?

I have not tried 21mm, but 22mm fitted well. Is yours 21mm?

@@justdoityourself My new line, the fitting to the rack is 19 mm but the original line seems to be slightly bigger like it would be a 20mm? I was going to start the job yesterday after seeing your video but decided to try again today
