Bro! You are a life saver! My gas cap warning has been going on forever. Then, today (much like some of the other people that commented) my check engine light came on. Code reader said cannister system low purge flow, and system purge flow malfunction. KZbin led me to a different video in which a tech was diagnosing the probable cause- but no explanation as to how to replace it, nor any mention of the gas cap warning. Once I saw your video and the comments, I feel certain that replacing this will kill two birds with one stone. I actually just had to remove the whole air filter box a few months ago to replace the #2 sensor on the tranny. (Throwing that up here in case any more Honda CRV owners run into that issue later!) Getting the bottom of the box off really is easy and it probably would make getting to that bottom bolt on this much easier. I confess I didn't know how to remove the bottom of the air filter box at first until I KZbind a similar video on a Honda Accord. It's like one bolt and then you just pull up. Mostly just slid down on the posts and held by rubber grommets. But back to your video- THANK YOU SO MUCH for putting this up here! Not all of us can afford expensive repair shops. KZbin warriors like yourself help the rest of us folks that are trying to get by!

From my experience removing the entire airbox is the way to go to get in there for that pesky bottom bolt. The airbox is easy to remove and reassemble and gave me a lot of room to work. Don't bother trying to remove the hose in the way of the bottom bolt but use an offset box wrench since it's so narrow between the bolt and the hose and will make the replacement much easier.

Just did this on my 2011. I had the ridged hose obstructing to the bottom bolt. Yes, remove the air box completely. 1 bolt and a good pull will get it off (take off rubber donuts, lube them with isopropyl alcohol, install on air box before putting it back in its home/posts). No need to remove the 10mm bolt holding the ridged hose, that did nothing for me. Remove top bolt and hoses first. I was able to Crack free bottom bolt with open ended wrench from the front position of the V. I then used my 8mm socket and a 6mm ball ended hex wrench inserted into the female part of the socket and was able to remove the lower bolt that way. Reinstalled with the same method making sure to start the bolts with my fingers, and only going one "ugga-dugga" on the lower bolt. Good luck!

Have a code reader that clears codes as well that cost $19.97 @ Walmart easy to use. Have plenty of power and runs great, gave it a tune-up at 130,000 and replaced coil packs as well just in case, if not, must replace boots and spring on it for half the cost. 4WD and average 19 city plus letting it warm up about 5 minutes max before leaving when cold out.
