I am in the UK, I bought the top of the range EX in 2022. I love it. It comes with 5 years servicing, breakdown and warranty. Mine is 1 year old. The edges of the arm rest are the only mistake I have found. You learn to drive around the worst issues of the hybrid and it is no real compromise. I really love mine. It is just like my previous diesel Land Rover Disco Sport HSE Lux without all the warning lights and recoveries and 48 mpg instead of 34 for the diesel LR. On the Honda, if you want to accelerate hard, press the sport button which then when you floor the throttle, it releases all the power from the battery and does not rev the engine. Learn how to use this unique powertrain and it will really reward you. I love it.

A superb test drive from your motoring correspondent, as a consequence I took an EX spec out from my local Honda dealer. Brilliant SU. .I went on and bought a CR-V AWD EX. Cheers.

I drove this car and yes - the engine nosie and the acceleration are disconnected. However I would not say that the car reacts slowly. On the contrary - it drives like an electric car with plenty of torque and instantenious response. During strong acceleration from 0 - 170 kph the car keeps pulling faster all the time. Yes - the engine sound will vary during that time, but the acceleration is there all the time. No conventional cars in this segment and price range can achieve this type of response. The important thing to realize in this car is that in everyday use in the city (up to about 100 kph) it is an electric car that has a pertol engine acting as a power generator, instead of a heavy, expensive and slow-charging battery. Only above the ca. 100 kph the car starts being actually driven by the petrol engine. An interesting test would be to see what is the fuel consumption in long-range driving on the highway. I expect the consumption to go sharply up when driving above 140 kph (when air drag is already signiticant for this car) for some time, when the battery gets depleted and the petrol engine does all the work by itself.

Taking your hands completely off the steering wheel (especially at that speed) is a very dangerous and foolish thing to do. Perhaps you aren’t aware of (or haven’t seen the consequences of) getting an instantaneous front wheel blow out, whereby the steering wheel can be snatched and spun at great force? In that situation the chance of major injury (or even death) is very real. Even if you don’t care about yourself, then please consider the safety of other innocent road users or pedestrians who could be affected by this recklessness. All the best!

@@janeblack953What? You sure you got a HYBRID variant?….if so, where on earth does the spare wheel get stored then?
