So good that I bought a 2022 version here in the UK (The Gen 6 is being introduced here towards the end of the year I think). Loving it so far. They face lifted it a little in 2021 I think and improved some of the specs. It's a lovely drive.

Most reliable hybrid engine on the market. This hybrid engine came from the Accord Hybrid Tech 2014. 6 years of reliability and efficiency. Highly recommended from an Accord Hybrid Tech G9 2014 owner.

Test drive it yesterday in Timișoara and really enjoyed it. It was an all wheel drive, top of the line model. I have to mention I am not a sporty driver, so for me the car fits well. I test drove the Toyota Rav 4 a few weeks ago , and although it's a better looking car, the Honda seems to drive smoother. The only setback is the price.

@TunedIntoCars5 жыл бұрын
You should wait. I've heard from a friend that drove both cars, one after the other, that the RAV4 isn't as smooth and refined as the CRV. In the sense that when the petrol engine kicks in, in the RAV4, you can really feel it, as the car 'shivers' a little and it gets a bit annoying after a while.

I own a 2019 Rav 4 XLE hybrid It is a nice smooth ride. Keep in mind Toyota has been in the hybrid business for 20+ years. The eCVT is superior to a pulley and belt system in the Honda.

I would be nice to add info about battery warranty.
@andrzejp87825 жыл бұрын
The battery is so small, that it doesn't have a separate warranty. It's a useless car as you can't charge the battery of the grid.
@xinghoney83145 жыл бұрын
@@andrzejp8782 I thought so too. All non plugin hybrids have this problem of small batteries that come with no warranty and they have negligible effect on fuel economy or efficiency in the long run.
@rizzlerazzleuno47335 жыл бұрын
@@xinghoney8314 Not so. In the US the hybrid batteries and related hybrid components have an 8 year, 100,000 mile (10 year, 150,000 miles in California) warranty. The battery may be small but it means when the vehicle is stopped no gas is being consumed, and to start moving the battery powers the electric motor until gas power kicks in. That's why hybrids get the best mileage in city driving. 🙂
@xinghoney83145 жыл бұрын
@@rizzlerazzleuno4733 I am not complaining about Hybrid efficiency, but the lack of transparency. I meant that there is no mechanism to check the state of the battery in hybrid vehicles if they are below 70% of their capacity or not. I hear alot of Toyota Hybrid batteries falling below 70% and users have no clue to use the warranty even though the battery failed. No transparency there.
@rizzlerazzleuno47335 жыл бұрын
@@xinghoney8314 I agree that the hybrids should have a battery "life" meter, but I expect that as long as the hybrid system continues to operate correctly I doubt the manufacturer is going to replace the battery under warranty until the hybrid system quits functioning, which may well be near 100% no storage capacity. At what point in the battery life would you expect the manufacture to replace it? That percentage would need to be written into the warranty, and probably should be. Apparently all hybrids will run OK on gas power only, but of course you lose the savings when you can operate briefly on stored electricity.

Its a shame that the CRV doesn't have a button to use the GAS engine to charge the batteries directly like the Honda Clarity . Also I would miss my HD Surround Vision . Makes backing up or pulling into a parking space.
@kenhoward35125 жыл бұрын
As a series hybrid, the engine is always charging the battery - it doesn't need a button for that. My understanding is that the vehicle runs totally on battery power at speeds up to about 45 mph, though the engine is continuously running, sending power to the generator motor (or to the drive wheels directly at speeds over 45).

Better styling doesn't really make a car better or worse. I can't say about the other things you mentioned, but I have heard that in the Toyota it's quite noticeable when the car switches the petrol engine on and off. You don't feel that in the Honda.

You said and I quote ' This is not a plug-in hybrid!'. I replied to that point you made. As to the other one, I would prefer a plug-in hybrid, like I've said in the video, in order to maximise battery use, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see how the market evolves. But considering that most of these new hybrid SUV / crossover vehicles are not plug-in hybrids, I don't see them going away that fast.
