I bought and installed the complete crash bar set with the skid plate, outstanding fit, workmanship, and quality with one exception. The nut weld on the center bracket used to install the skid plate bolt at 1:26 was missing so I had use a bolt with a separate nut on this location. Once it's on it's ok but holding the nut back there to get it started is a pain. Otherwise, great products.

Hi! I bought your skidplate some months ago and assembled following this video, with the correct torque as you say, but I felt some vibrations between 3000 and 3500 rpm. I’ve tried to reassembly but the vibrations keep there (I’ve found that the plate that goes on the bottom and have a C to catch on the chassis have a gap, so I putted some adhesive tape on the tube to make it thicker). I’ve also tried again putting 2 mm of silicone layer between de skidplate and the fixation points, the vibrations changed but they appear between 2700 and 3200 rpm. It is so uncomfortable, for the vibrations on the feet and also on the handlebar, but also for the sound (it sounds worst than my old Suzuki DR 650 😂). Can you help with some tips to fix this problem? Many thanks in advance!

Could you not design the skid plate to further cover the catalytic convertor up the side more although the original is thin tin it does cover the side of the catalytic convertor better. Most likely to prevent burns due to the heat. Can you consider that please.

@@erikvanderhorst5778 There’s no bigger skid plate than this. It’s already bigger than our Africa Twin 1000. The catalytic converter is covered by a thick steel shield from the factory. There’s no need to add more coverage, plus the catalytic converter produces a lot of heat and more you cover it, the worse it gets.

No offense but if you need a guide for that you better let a shop install the OM.

@@mindofmonster oh plenty offense taken. Never do anything without having seen it done first, or owning the shop manual, or at least the Haynes manual. Haynes have dragged their feet over the 1100 for 5 years now, the shop manual costs a shit load, so we're left relying on KZbin. I'm not into exploratory surgery on a £15k bike, but neither do I want to pay a 1 hour, £40 minimum if it's a 5 minute job. You see? Now go be an idiot elsewhere.

We don't know. Haven't tried it. The skid plate and crash bars most likely fit. We have doubts about the engine guards though.

Update: Just when you think you are home free on the install something bites you in the ass. This skid plate bracket DOES NOT fit a 2024 and my god what a pain in the ass each time you change the oil. You're saying both flush bolts should go in? No way in hell or I got a tweaked set... Very disappointed and right at the end too.

It does seem pretty sturdy with just the 2 top bolts and the one bottom. Not much different than factory I guess. I'm just super OCD and it really bothers me the other hole will not line up.

All your products are really nice and we'll built! But that bash plate looks like you ran out of steel and put a mini bash plate in instead. Looks horrible how it doesn't cover the cat coverter and pipes. Sadly will have to go a different brand .

There’s nothing mini about it. The catalytic converter is covered by a steel shield from the factory. There’s no need to add more coverage, plus the catalytic converter produces a lot of heat and more you cover it, the worse it gets.
