1996 Honda Cr250 engine in a 2016 icebear little monster with 237 miles. Cr has fresh top end, clutch, water pump/seals, new coil, stator, and cdi installed. Uni filter and new carburetor. 250 rear gear and chain. This bike is fully street legal in Texas. Has working horn, lights, brake lights, turn signals and mirrors that weren’t installed for this video.
The engine wasn't hitting the powerband like it should in this video. This was the very first test run after installing the engine. 73mph was the fastest i seen on the Speedo. It had more but I wasn't willing to push it.

There were a number of 100 - 125cc 2 strokes that were (and still are) popular in southeast asia. I think they stopped making them in 1999 or so, though.

Subbed! Dude that's an awesome build! We need an updated video after you work all the kinks out and truly let er eat! Get that power valve working properly and change your final drive ratio. Either add a tooth on the front or drop about 4-5 teeth on the rear sprocket. Wouldn't be a bad idea to add a weighted flywheel also, it will help keep the front end down and smooth out the power delivery. And where you at in Texas? would be cool to rip around with ya if you're close by!

Thanks man! It was a bucket list event for me for a long time! Had some issues with power steering but I’m working on a radical build for a new chili bowl car. Also, On the Crom. I wasn’t short shifting I just forgot to hook up the power valve when I rebuilt the head so I just wasn’t able to get it into the powerband. This video was the first time I ever had it running good enough to move. It vibrated so much that it was sketchy enough as it was! Thanks for the kind comments!

External battery powered all of the lights and horn. The only reason the engine sounds like it’s lagging is because I forgot to connect the power valve when reinstalling the jug during the rebuild.

Badass build man! What was the hardest part?

Brandon Sullivan Getting the chain to align correctly and not get into the swing arm was the only real issue that gave me a fight. The rest was very simple. Fabricate some motor mounts and i used the stock top mount from the CR250. The exhaust bolted to the stock frame on the ICEBEAR like it was made for it. I also used the stock mounting points on the ICEBEAR to mount the radiator. It was a tight fit but came out pretty well.

A couple of factors to consider. 1)This is the first test ride 2) cr80 has bigger wheels. It eventually did go faster than 72mph but if you’re feeling ambitious I welcome you to do a swap and try hitting 100mph the first time it’s on the road 🤷🏻‍♂️

The engine actually had no issues with the mounting. The issues I ran into was the chain and middle sprocket I added to get the chain off the swing arm. It worked, but it had issues.

Good question. The battery would be charged separately. Since all the lights are LED it would actually last for a long time. You would have to take a break from the vibration before the battery would ever die.

A cr250 engine, change rear sprocket, some fabrication work...it wasn't terribly difficult. It was street legal. It vibrated all the led's out of the rear tail light, however. Used cr250 top engine mount, bolted straight up. Custom made engine plates to bolt bottom of engine to frame. The counter sprocket in this video was later removed.

Hey i know what to have best gear ratio..now I'm swaping a cr 250 2002 engine to a 1999 nsr, but i've noticed that the gear ratio make the power cant be used properly...i found that crf 450x gears can be fitted in cr cases..and now I'm waiting for a complete set of gears that comes to me tomorrow...i have a lot of work to do but i feel so good. Www.gearingcommander.com Here you can see why gear ratio of cr 250 is not designed for a sports bike, but crf 450x ratio have much more sense for the asphalt. Really good job man im jealous of you😅

@@cxbra if you do this, for 170km/h top speed you will need a first gear that comes up to 80km/h, because cr 250 engine have gears ratio(not final ratio as you are talking about) designed for motocross, and it means very long first gear and the others too short, because its a bike made for jump. If you use an engine from some enduro bike you will have better results with less effort.
