Bro you just saved me. I never thought the throttle sensor would cause this problem. People quoted my high prices to fix. Thanks sir

Man I really appreciate this video. I was driving home from work and my Honda started shifting really weird. So I stopped and shifted into park to try and reset it and it wouldn’t come out of park. Pulled the codes and like you said all it is showing is TPS bad. You saved me a lot of headaches and money!!!

This is valuable info. I've been stuck on this until I ran into this video. Just want to make it clear that you can still calibrate the voltage, but if the position of the TPS is not springing back, as shown in the video, it will be necessary to replace the TPS sensor. Otherwise, you'll be stuck in park. Great video!!

My element was crazy high idle upon startup and after warmed up it was 1500. Too high. I took the throttle body from an accord and it was down to 1200 cold 1000 warm but it would not come out of park. I went through everything I could think of. TPS I did not think of. Now I know why. THANK YOU. Those are a tad adjustable too. So i think the good one was just not set right which caused the high idle. You the Man.

I'm having this exact same issue with my 2004 cr-v I just changed the transmission shift solenoid thinking that would fix it because my 15$ scan tool off amazon is only showing me the tps code. It dosnt read voltage but I've already changed my tsp earlier this year and it ran great until recently but thanks to you I have more of an understanding of what it is and I'll try to troubleshoot my tps again. Note, another way I found to get it to shift is to turn off the car when it idles down and turn it back on, when it starts it's in a lower idle and I can shift again.

You could unplug the TPS as a test to see if it comes out of Park

It would be nice if you show where the location of TPS switch. Is it on the dashboard or at the engine compartment?

in the engine compartment by the throttle body

would the tps be responsible for car at idle showing 7000k rpm's, and than step on gas and the rpms go to 8k rpms. It ran ok, but now it won't shift out of park.

Is that engine rpm or input rpm on the transmission

how did you change it there riveted on

It was changed about 2 years ago. I called the wholesale account and he changed it
@robertoortiz78383 жыл бұрын
The rivets holding the TPS are screws. Use a pin marker to tap on it to the left to unscrew it. Search for a video explaining how to replace and calibrate the TPS. When you be doing the calibration make sure the IAC sensor and MAP sensor are connected. When calibrating mine the reading was too high, and after connecting these other two sensors I was able to get the normal reading.

Hi. I have A540H-09. The problem is this. Reverse gear works at 2000-3500 rpm. And the rest of the gears 1-2-3-4 overdrive 2-L are perfect. I change the oil every 30,000-50,000 km. Accp nicely shifts gears. That's just the back problem. Mileage 570.000km Toyota Caldina 4WD. Please tell me
@GaryFerraro3 жыл бұрын
I would say either the low/reverse clutch is no good or something wrong with the Overdrive cover, reverse is fed through the cover

@@karensar9304 yes, reverse is fed through the cover, either the cover has a problem or the Low/Reverse clutch is no good. Does this by chance move forward in Neutral?

Dunno Gary, sort of makes sense really. Would you want your shifter to come out of park (into any gear) when you have high engine revs? I cannot imagine what that damage is likely to end up being done to the torque converter and transmission under those conditions. I reckon this is probably a safety function designed into Hondas. I would be surprised if other cars do not have something like this also. Makes sense to me.
