I cut my frame on both sides in same area. No stress yet. I just angled it towards the traction bar. Also shaved 10 or so pounds

You don't want double hiems on your traction bar on an EF. They are solid for a reason, you risk some extra play in the front suspension. Ask how I know.

When welding those thick plates....I'd bevel it for at least 3 passes. 1/4 plate equals over half an inch width of weld. wrap the corners.

Need a few gussets where you cut the frame. The traction bar has all the leverage it needs to break the small section of frame. Just my opinion.

Didn't do it by halves. Proper gave it the chop chop. AN lines look a little long but loops make for good liquid locks where required. =]
