I'm restoring a '83 Honda Aero 80 and I am about to change the tires and this is really helpful . Thanks .

Cool! I bought a 1985 Elite 80 w/ 3400 orig. mi. a month ago. In a month I put 425 miles on her. LOVE getting 100+ miles per tank, and where I live, that's less than $4 for a full tank. With change. I came from a motorcycling background (my other ride is a '87 BMW K-75) so the scooter took some getting used to, but now I love it.

Glad it helped,I was thinking about replacing the CVT belt but the scooter still runs around 42-45 mph so I am assuming the belt isn't worn out yet.I am currently installing LED driving lights from ADVmonster, they should light up the night and make me more visible during the day.The challenge has been installing them without hacking into the wiring harness and finding a sturdy spot to mount them.I will put up a video of them after I am done.I found a service manual online, its been a big help.

Do you have a link to these driving lights?

I know it’s way late but for anyone else please use an angled valve stem. You don’t know how much it hinders you with these straight stems on these tiny wheels. Good video!!

Your right but there are angled valve extenders available that can easily side step this.

Wow! That scooter looks brand new! I have the same exact type, but mine is no where near as nice as yours. Thanks for the video!

A few things are left out of this video. The brake cover with brake pads in it has notches on the inside that have line up with and fit over a plastic piece in the brake drum. When you put the wheel on, there is a groove on the outside of the brake and there is a nub on the inside of the left fork (your left if you are sitting on the scooter). The nub on the fork has to fit inside the groove on the Brake cover. On the right side there is a spacer that looks like a socket of a wrench. You have to hold the spacer in place while putting the wheel on and while starting the axle bolt into the wheel. One way to tell if everything is not lined up right is the wheel wont spin freely.

I'm having that problem with the spacer that looks like a wrench socket. Any tips on how to fix/adjust it?

And how exactly do you find out what kind of elite you have an 80 or 50 I know it's an 86 on the registration and I don't want to buy the wrong carburetor or petcock please help me

My ‘04 has a decal underneath the hinged seat. Hope these kind of capable Scooters are re-introduced. Carburettor clean I took rear exhaust & rear wheel off to access 1 of 2 carb. nut. Belt broke @ ‘bout 10,000 miles, yet replaced patiently.

Hello my friend do you know where to get a carburetor for that I seen another guy and he was talking that they didn't send him one with serial numbers and he never said it if it would work or not but I think I need a carburetor because it only works if I keep choking it and choking it and then it runs and choking it and then it runs sorry to repeat but I'm very irritated at this motorcycle right

Carb. Bowl lower and cleaning jets then spraying a little carb. cleaner upwards helps start. 30 seconds with lights on warms glow plug or valve letting gas into bowl once bowl screws re-tight.
