Honestly, I test drove the new civic touring and quite frankly, Honda have done a really good job with it. If I'm paying 30k for something, I'd rather have a brand new car. There's no doubt that the accord is more spacious and comfortable, but a 2.0 touring from 2018 will still be more expensive than a 2022 civic 1.5t touring + the gas mileage will be worse off. I'd rather take a new accord over a new civic, but a new civic over an old accord.

But the 2.0 starts at 32,500, not 29,000. And, the Sport SE trim has more of the luxury features that you get on the higher models such as EX and EX-L. The Sport 2.0 only has the standard LX and Sport 1.5/2.0 features, whereas the Sport SE does not. That is why they chose the Sport SE for this comparison. Personally, I would go for the Touring.

I have to agree. In my 2021 Accord 1.5T Sport, sub-bass is pretty much non-existent, as experienced with the following track: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6qYhWqdoZedZpo At the 28s mark, the first pronounced sub-bass hit, it is almost silent in my Accord's stock speakers (bass boosted +1 via the system setting). Midbass is somewhat there, but there's such a severe roll-off in the frequency response as one gets near the sub-bass and below. Overall, the stock sound from the system is embarrassingly bass shy, especially from someone who owns a few Audeze LCD headphones whose frequency response is linear from the mids all the way down to 10Hz. Furthermore, aftermarket subwoofers will require one to disable Honda's ANC.

I have a 2019 Accord EXL that replaced a 2018 that was damaged during repairs. It has a boat load of problems which I had to claim the Lemon law over back in 2019.The most annoying of all which is an interior vibrating noise pretty much none stop. It has paint and gap issues, I was told the rear end of my car was already painted and it was suppose to be new. My back up camera is all hazy. The indicator only works when it wants to. The lane change is also giving me sporadic problems, along with breaking indicator. Auto headlights didn't work for 3 years, Now they do but my lenses are all hazy and have stains on the inside, with two different colored bulbs. My 12 way seat isn't working properly. It's been in the Shop more than required for replacement. Also everytime I get it back something else is damaged from trying to fix it. They got grease on the visors, headlinger, leather seat and mat. I am disgusted with American Honda. During my arbitration they sent a representative that lied through his teeth. We have had 6 Honda's in my family over the years and never had any problems. They really scrafised quality. There not even acknowledging my lemon claim at this point and gave me a new case number. It's really quite unbelievable what there doing to me. Since I'm disabled it makes it hard for me to afford a lawyer.😡

Model trim should have been identical. At least do Civic Touring against Accord Sport SE (for price point comparison) followed by a third comparison with the Honda Accord Touring to see what touring has the most features. Currently, the Accord Touring has features hits other model siblings don't have therefore the SE you're comparing isn't fully equipped to be compared against a Civic.

Cant wait to get my hatchback sport civic! I would love a 2.0t accord but with the price tag of 26k of the Civic hatch sport it is definitely a win with everything you get and the all new design in and out! Regular 1.5t sport accord is almost 30k and 34k for 2.0t sport starting! It's not even a match at all to compare these cars with more than 4k in difference, not to mention the price tag out the door. Both pretty cars but I'm on the civic hatch!

I had a 2018 1.5T Honda Accord, It was the LX model so it was very basic. It was a good car but the biggest issue were the tires. The tires were Goodyear Assurance and they slipped and slide in the rain like no other. Another issue was in high speeds the 1.5T lost steam making passing in the highway a chore. If I were in the market for a Honda family car, I would choose the Accord 2.0T, or opt for the 2022 Honda Civic!

Even if the price point would’ve been nearly 10K the accord touring should be compared to the civic touring. It only makes sense since your comparing top of the line new civic vs slightly above sport or 3rd trim isn’t likely fair in comparison.

The Accord 2.0T is the Civic Type R engine de-tuned. And you get a REAL 10 Speed automatic transmission vs the crappy, jerky and numb CVT with its synthetic gears. That means the Accord 2.0T wins by default in my book. 😎👍🏼

I would choose the Honda Civic hatchback Sport Touring over the Honda Accord because of its greater trunk capacity plus I think it’s better looking. Although I’m sad that the Si version will only be available in the sedan instead of the hatchback. The R type will be offered in the hatchback version but dealers typically price-gouge the R type over $10,000 over the MSRP, plus i think that the R type won’t be available with a sunroof - a deal breaker.

@@CarConfections I just feel like that bin is fairly minor in comparison to something that is a safety feature. Usually when I think of storage its in reference to things like trunk space, how much storage space when the seats fold down, etc. Blind spot monitors seem like a much bigger selling point than a slightly larger storage bin in the middle console
