Well, like you, John. I keep putting it off and don't want to pay a dealer to do what I can do. I'm going to try and tackle it this weekend. Thanks for the video, and I hope all is well.

It's really not as bad as I might make it sound! Just take that cylinder can thing off, and you're in business! Good luck

John. Just found your videos. Thanks for going thru the trouble of filming to help us out. Have you changed the front brake pads on your 2016 F6B? If yes, is there a video? Is it as easy as the rear by just removing the pin dropping the pads and replacing? Thanks. Scott
@johnk123451002 жыл бұрын
Yes it's just exactly the same process as the rear. I think I have a video on it, if not there's plenty out there. Don't take the caliper off, one video says you have two on KZbin not true.

Greetings from Poland. I have a question for you what oil do you use in your Honda F6B
@johnk123451003 жыл бұрын
To be honest I use different brands of oil, the last oil change I just did I used four stroke weight 30, at whatever AutoZone had, it was full synthetic about 10 USA dollars a quart.

Do I have to take out the crush liquid just like the brake liquid exchange?

I think I go over that in the video, did you watch the whole thing? It's a different procedure than the brake bleeding, but watch the whole video

Working on the bike (GL1800) is a pain in the butt in most respects. Have you replaced the Air Filter yet?🤣I'm getting close to just saying screw it, or taking it to the shop. What if you don't have a partner? Did you do it alone? Sounds like it.
@johnk123451002 жыл бұрын
Yes I did it by myself and really did kind of take my time but still it was an 8-hour job! And I had to take off all these side wings and bull crap on the 1800, not as much on my f6b. Since I just have the under the side view mirror hand wings. I still haven't decided if I'm going to take my 16 into the shop or try to attempt it myself. I'll put out a video if I do it myself for sure! But there's a couple of good ones out there on it already. It is a royal pain

@@twoweeledsoto6072 I took mine bike apart in about 2 hours. Plan on a half day and find a good tutorial. It’s not as bad as they say. A #5 Allen, 8 and 10mm with extensions, flat head, Phillips, needle nose pliers, and a lot of patience are about all you need.

@@OnlyByGrace2020 thanks! I did end up doing it. It took me much longer, in part because I was in the "take my sweet time" mode. Otherwise, stuff ends up broken 🤣. It was an all day very rainy day. I couldn't disconnect the wire harness directly next to the key. Luckily I was able to continue. I couldn't completely remove top of air box, do I squeezed the air filter in. Not a biggie. Everything appears to be fine, with the exception of the steering lock. I figure I have to rotate something around the key ignition. Not a biggie. It works 80%. I just gotta play a bit with it. Thanks for the response! 👍

@@twoweeledsoto6072 I finished mine in 5 hours. I did it the first time in 4 hours at slow and steady speed. Then when I fired up for a test ride, I realized I left the air sensor off. 70 minutes later and a handful of words later I was off like a rocket lol. It’s the little things that trip you up

@@johnk12345100 not really a record setter. If you read the information on fully synthetic oil, particularly Amsoil, it's intended for longer durations between changes. Basically I change my oil in the early spring, so the mileage varies depending on how much riding I'm doing. The average is 10 to 15K per year. I also pull my air filter to clean it at the same time.

I bought a new to me 2016 wing and had Harley most of my adult life anyway long story short ...my bike clunks upshift 4 to 5
@johnk123451006 ай бұрын
Yeah so mine was happening mostly when I went from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd and I believe that it was caused by me soft downshifting in the bite not fully in gear and then popping the clutch and being out of gear a little bit I think I broke the forks I think they're called it could be what's going on with yours too only at a different gear, sometimes that's hard to recreate or notice when you're doing a test ride unfortunately. These are great bikes but if you have someone that did the soft downshift in bent or broke the fork then that's a pretty hefty fee unfortunately to get repaired. Advice sell it and get something with very low miles or brand new so you can take care of it from the beginning
