Honda Highness CB350 vs Meteor 350 Comparison: Is There A Clear Winner?

Is the Honda Highness CB350 that much better than a Royal Enfield Meteor 350 that you should outright dismiss it? Or is there more to this battle.
In this video, I switch between the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and the Honda Highness CB350 to tell you what I feel about the both of them when I ride and how close or far they really are from each other.
Remember, just because one bike is damn good, that does not mean the other is necessarily bad. Sometimes, there is room for both to co-exist and play on their strengths.

I plan to do a series of videos on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 - I have been given the top of the range bike, the Supernova. The windscreen is missing from this bike as it is yet to reach dealership.
The videos will also include a comparison with the Honda Highness CB350 from a user's perspective. This series will not be about 0-100 timings, not about the top speed, but information that you as a rider will find helpful.

I would say it is the best 350cc for all sorts of rides. It is sooooo light. I couldn't manage a classic 350 with this ease or comfort in city Rides.

Cruiser bikes are an American concept not European(or Indian). That's why world-wide they dont sell much. Look at Harley packing their bags and leaving India. Standard classics(RETRO) on the other hand are the modern rage lol. Sales of Classic 350 in India and Triumph's retro classic bikes all across the globe does prove a very vital point. I think Honda has hit the bulls eye with CB350 and the only limit is their dealership network. Once that takes place, well competition better beware😎 PS: In terms of biking taste Indians are way more Euro than US.

Honda did a smart thing actually by making the cb350 exclusive to bigwing showrooms RE is facing supply chain issues due to massive amount of bookings(just like jawa did) Honda managed to avoid that using the bigwing trick I think honda will expand the number of showrooms once they have analysed the market demand

The perception is there cruiser is for petlu uncle riding with half face helmet. 😂😂 I'm not really sure why but the styling on the cb350 will be accepted by wider audience. RE had the chance to revive the Standard 350 platform with this new engine and make the oldest production motorcycle much more appealing as I don't see much Thunderbirds on the road. The classic is widely accepted because of the low seat height and more proportionate design.

Clutch is light because of the assist clutch which is part of the slipper clutch. When you release the throttle clutch will automatically be applied halfway. You only doing rest of the work. This system is prone to maintenance and expensive to do service. Simple clutch is better.

I'd still say if you want hassle free ownership and an engine you can rely on for a long time its got to be the Honda. You may feel the connect more on an RE but the service from my experience is frankly not upto the mark. There can be hits and misses but as long as Honda stays bigwing with this and scales up soon, you should be in for a much better long term ownership experience

as brand new bikes, both are performing good... I believe their real characteristic will come after 30K kms. very doubtful if the meteor will remain as smooth as it is now..but Honda has a last long reputation

Abhinav i think comparing the upcoming classics to the cb350 would be an apple to apple comparison, albeit the fact its going share the same rolling chassis from the meteor. Both the bikes look amazing and appealing however as rightly mentioned by you one is a easy going cruiser ,another an everyday use motorcycle for the millennial.

Hi Rashid. I think so too. The new J platform Classic 350 and the Honda will be an apples to apples comparison. Till then, it just about you want a semi-cruiser or a city bike.

Believe me, the service network is a most important thing. I purchased Jawa 42 2.1 after test ride, and reviews. But my city is 150 km from the Pune. Had a minor accident where I dent my petrol tank and bent the Handle bar. Now I cannot ride it to service it. Need to send the motorcycle by lorry which is pricey proposition. Regretting buying a Jawa.

The rider *footpegs* position what turns mi off from Re meteor. *Honda Highness* seems like mi choice. Ey just wished it had a better & bigger *instrument cluster* . Although personally, ey will never choose neither of these two bikes as a *Primary* bike for long distance touring.

Our riding gloves are similar 😂 but i ride a duke 250 😜 i think honda would be more suitable for hilly areas where we dont have a long straight stretch of road like the mainland. Abhinav you praised RE too much..i hope you know about quality , reliability and service standards of RE 1. Its reliability and service is not there yet with Japanese brands ..their recent classic platform has many issues..but its the love for bullet and classics which has kept them going...every middle class person has dreamt of owning one... 2. RE customers go for the heart and then face the burnt of it..mechanic becomes the best friend..but now Honda had played the triumph card ... we have a better preforming sensible, refined and reliable machine that you can actually keep for years without getting bankrupt. 3. As a company RE learning curve is damn too slow ..if it was left upto them we would still be on the cast iron platform their 1st batch owners are worst hit. 4. Sevice cost and spares are costly for RE for what is offered. Thats my experience with RE ...rode Electra 350 for 4 years....have been riding since last 13 years.

Nitin Raina RE is not the way like it’s 5 years back. They’ve changed a lot of stuffs starting from the 2nd generation Himalayan followed by the 650 twins and then this. You’ll be amazed if i say I’ve been to service centre only 2 days for the 10k kms i have done in my gt 650.
