This is why a $420 mower is worth it. Honda does a fantastic job of explaining DIY maintenance and everything is pretty easy to do. The throwaway $300 mowers are done by 4-5 seasons of use.

I want one of these so bad, but I have a craftsman that's at least 15 years old that still works like a charm. However, I stay on top of my maintenance. Briggs and stratton great engines. I would love a honda because that's what I drive.

I'm a woman. And the first time owning a lawnmower that I payed good money. I never had to do any of this style of stuff but I'm learning. My grass is growing gracefully and probably next week it definitely needs to be cut. I'm excited to use my new lawn mower. I have watched this video several times to make sure I know what I'm doing. I was paying someone to cut my grass but his price went way up. So I decided I was going to do it myself just for the exercise part of it. I use to cut my own grass a few years ago. But everyone wants money and not paying attention to the details of your lawn. Thank you so much for the video. It was very detailed. And I understood everything that was being explained.

I'll point out to, since you cite inexperience, that you should read the manual. It doesn't tell you all you could know, but having cut crass since the xxxx's, it looks like good basic advice. I'd say trust it, observe the service and intervals too, and you should be goood for a long time!

Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower kzbin.infoUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.

Best mower ive ever had and smoothest engine of all the brands ive had before. Worth every penny😊

You should tip the mower back onto its wheels (after the initial drain), let sit for a few seconds and tip back over to drain. Repeat twice more. You'd be surprised at how much more old oil comes out.

Always buy a mower with the rear drive wheels being LARGER in diameter than the front wheels! It makes mowing on a thick lawn (like St. Augustine) so much easier! When all four wheels are the same size, the mower takes more “man handling” to push around on slopped and uneven terrain and thick tough lawns, even when the “small” rear wheels are driven from engine power. The larger rear wheeled lawn mower models are so much easier to maneuver. I found this out from a lawn care guy and trying his mower out AFTER I bought this Honda model in the video. Live and learn.

With this mower dont much, still rwd tho. If stuck, give more power to the wheels
@atlantajunglepythons17442 жыл бұрын
Wider wheels would be good too, even a rider or a tractor would be better. But I've had no problem getting a good result, and other options cost more. I was already spending at my limit. Honda makes one with larger wheels, but I don't know if any of their mowers are asymmetric- check on that and report back!

When I took my blades off my Honda HRN216 the spring washers were flat - no curve lie you show in the video. Is that normal for the washers to flatten after you tighten them? Or do I need to buy some new spring washers?
@rickbrown35563 ай бұрын
I've had this lawnmower for two years and I've had issues with the blades leaving an uncut strip and standing blades of grass. I've sharpened the blades and replaced them and it still doesn't make a clean cut. I had another Honda twin blade mower and had the same thing happen and removed the mulching blade and it seemed to do the trick. I'm just too happy to pay $400 for the mower and have to change the blade configuration.

Hola, buen dia.

Just replaced the blades and now there’s a rattle. Did everything as this video said. Looked up rattle on Honda mowers and got many different things that could be a cause.

I think it's the wheels? I ran into a hard object and had to replace the blades. Same problem???
@atlantajunglepythons17442 жыл бұрын
Erm, replacing the blades should not cause a rattle. Did you use new, Honda made blades? Did you check their balance before installing? If they are torqued on correctly, maybe correct new bolts, replacing any spacers, washers, lock-nuts or lock-washers, or wedges, it shouldn't start rattling. Maybe you failed to retighten something on the handles or bodywork? What part is rattling? I wouldn't use it! Could lead to permanent damage in some cases. May be time to take it in.
@OffMyMed Жыл бұрын
I have taken the blades off before and after putting them back on there was rattle. They just weren’t tight enough (I did not use a torque wrench just a regular one) so that would be a cause

Clean out the carb jet. Need to do this every three times you mow the yard. You'll need Phillips #3 screwdriver, ratchet, extension bar, 10mm socket, and some carb cleaner. Another video shows you how to do it. Need to almost pull the carb all the way out and be ready for random parts to fall out. Then you're all set!

Would it make sense to put a bit of anti-seize on the blade bolts and then torque a little extra?
