This thing is a lot like my 1982 Honda CM250 that I recently got as my first bike! Although this one seems much more professionally done haha, I still love what the previous owners did with it

Couldn't agree more with you, I'm actually 14 now and I was lucky enough to be in a family that was very handy with tools, motorcycles, cars etc. Going to school right now for Welding and have built my first hardtail frame for my 1982 ironhead sportster.

The little Rebels are a lot like the old scramblers. I'm an old fart and remember all those fun things. Those were the good old days. Nostalgia is very cool !!! Thanks so much, Lance at BCB

This bike takes me back to to a Honda 305 Scrambler that I chopped for a kid who used to live down the street from me. I machined up a set of 6" overstock fork tubes for it. I used a pre-unit Triumph rear fender. I made up a cobra seat for it, as well. I used shorty mufflers on that lil bike. From what I gather, the guy still owns and rides that little machine.

Thanks Walt. You are very knowledgable about the forks. I've never done anything like that. It would look cool to do the extension. Thanks again, Lance

Im gonna be honest here, I was nervous about undertaking my bobber project. Never done this before. When I got the fender I was nervous. Got the light kit, I was super nervous... Got the exhaust, super nervous. With every step, I thought, surely I will mess this one up. NOPE! The instructions and support from Lance is AMAZING. I never had to call him once.... And the bike looks and sounds AMAZING!

We have so many options that it would be hard to say on a complete kit. You can look at our website and add the stuff to the carts. The total with shipping will be calculated for you. The Rebels make awesome little bobbers!! Thanks so much, Lance and Cheryl at BCB

If you are building a from-the-ground -up chop, then go with the later Sportster forks (which use 39 mm.fork tubes.). Those forks are thicker in diameter and a bit stronger than the 35 mm. forks that came on the ironhead Sportys. I'd also use Progressive fork springs. And for Pete's sake, run a front brake! I see a lot of chop and bobber guys who run brakeless front wheels. I'm glad that I can help in any way. Build safe and ride safe, Lance.

You're at the right age to start burning and turning metal. Make sure you get maximum penetration on all your welds and allow for suffiicient time for the welds to cool before you remove the frame from the jig. All the best of luck on your future projects. Ride safe.

The rebels are so much fun!! The whitewalls aren't available for them. I wish someone would make a set !! Thanks so much, Lance at BCB

You got it, man. Give a little added attention to your engine mounts on your project frame. Even though you won't be building a big-inch stroker, try to beef up the engine mounts as much as possible (without making them look cobby). Rigid frames flex and they can be tough on engine castings (around motor mount bolt holes). Of course, older machines have problems with crankcase mounting bolt holes cracking due to metal fatigue.

Hi Red, we only make the fenders in aluminum. With a little creativity you could probably make the tank and fender match. I really like the rat look !! Thanks, Lance at BCB

Hi and thanks for the nice comments. If you go to our home page and the list of kits to the right side you will see the large and small seats toward the bottom. Just click on them and you can see samples of seats. We can make up the seats either small or large. Thanks so much, Lance at BCB

Hey Lance, Quick question. Love the paint job, but not too sure how to find examples online. I'm not sure what you'd call it, or what to search for. Would love to finnish my tank the same way, but looking for more examples to show my paint guy. Thanks! Also, loving the Cafe racer build you have now!

Y'all should do a V Star 250 bobber as well. The rear fender is a good Bobber-style fender to start with.

Hi Lance. I've seen just about every configuration of screwed-up forks in my forty-plus years of chopper building. I remember when guys would use screw-in extensions (called "slugs"). Those things were outright dangerous no matter if you welded them in or not. Some fools are still marketing those damned things. Ed Roth once told me, "If the forks are longer than 6 inches over, then, take them off, put the stock forks back on, and go out and have some fun with the bike."
@sayonajie9666 Жыл бұрын
Damn, that's a beautiful bike. do you have the full built video?
@mickeymousebiker111 жыл бұрын
Yep. Build safe and the bike will be good to ya. Wearing a lid is the only way to ride, as well. Ride safe, Lance.
@mickeymousebiker111 жыл бұрын
Here's a bit of advice regarding your frame and fork geometry. I'd keep the rake stock. If you want to get truly "custom" then use a little downtube stretch. I'd stay within two or four inches overstock on the forks. To my thinking, six over forks are a bit radical (especially on a raked frame). Handling can get nuts after going longer than six inches overstock on the forks. Build safe and ride safe.

Just about everyone says the bikes run fine with the stock jets. Ours run great too. If you run our pipes and change the stock air box then you may have to fatten the mixture some. Thanks, Lance at BCB

I've been looking at buying a custom over the last couple of months. I love the look of the bobbers but I need a back seat for when the girlfriend wants to ride along. Do you know if it's possible to mount a little seat on the rear fender of these 250 rebels for riding two up? Thanks, loving all of your bikes...

I noticed you said the fenders were made of heavy aluminum. Is it possible to have them made from steel? I was planning on applying a patina to the gas tank and fenders to make it look a little more ratty. Cheers Red

I'm in Milwaukee and I've never seen another limited rebel, or have I've seen another rebel bobber. Hope I'll be the 1st! I'll make all those hog owners jealous!! I'll be glad to tell everyone that BCB hooked me up.

Hi, It woud be impossible to put a passenger on our rear fender. The fender goes up and down with the suspension. The ride would be terrible and the struts wouldn't hold up under the stress. Thanks so much, Lance at BCB

Hey. We all have to start somewhere. I was lucky when I was a kid of sixteen. I started building choppers with a 1950 FL Panhead (which I bought for $300.00). The damn thing ran. Back then, you didn't have to be Don Trump-wealthy to build a chopper.
