Hey Kyle you were killing me with your brain cramp in the beginning about the power mode when you needed the TC off. I have a deposit on a Transalp and hope to get it soon. Glad you figured out how to turn off the TC . Keep the content coming

Man… the one last step to set the TC ;) I’m happy I finally figured it out! I was also a little relieved when I heard others in their vlogs having the same situation. It’s a great bike. I’d like to have one as my commute bike to replace the 390 Adv.

I agree Kyle. I've been riding too long for traction control to be useful and it could even be dangerous for me. I test rode one of these recently and thought to myself maybe the TC on minimum might be okay. But it wasn't. I ended up pulling up one of Ben's videos about how to disable it and then it was game on. I too was pleasantly surprised by the bike. I'm pretty confident I'll end up getting it.

It really is a great machine. A few tweaks and it really is the bike that a lot of the Adv market has been asking for.

There are a few companies that make exhaust systems that go high up. Less weight and adds 1-2hp. Skid plate is a must I’d say.

This bike's gonna take wiring an electromagnetic cutoff switch to either(or all?) riding aid(s?) fuse circuit so one could just tap it ONCE on a "switch on" while still sporting the 'safety politics' going on , for it will go back to normal when power's off from the switch if wired right

Kyle, what tires (50/50) do you recommend for this ride. Mine came with the Karoo street. I live in FL and it's all sand here. You spoke highly of the Anake Wild in the video. Any others come to mind?

Kyle, I'm replacing my 390 Adv with two bikes to split and focus the work. Last summer I got a 350 exc-f for off-road focused days and love it. Now I'm looking for a bike that's more comfortable on the highway but still capable on mild off-road, like rutted up logging roads, gravel roads with stream washouts, and the like. I'm thinking the T700 is more than I need for off-road, and less than the Transalp on pavement, so I'm leaning strongly towards the Honda - can you comment? (Love the 390, it sets a high bar; you have one and I'm sure you are in a good position to comment - I wouldn't want to take the Transalp off the highway and find out I made a mistake).
@manybikes10 ай бұрын
Oh here we go! Thank you for reaching out. While I LOVE the 390 Adv for what it does I do think the Transalp is a "better bike" all around. It's a Honda. It is very robust. It does not feel as light as the 390, but it does not feel "heavy." The Transalp is way smoother and faster on the highway. I personally would trade my 390 Adv for a Transalp. Good luck in your decision.
@stephenfox72810 ай бұрын
Thanks, that helps a lot. Can I ask what you would be thinking for tire options on the Transalp? I’d be looking for great road manners.. and some confident grip in wet and muddy off-road (not much sand in eastern Canada)

Hello! I'm based in India. Looking to upgrade from my KTM 390 to a bigger (more reliable) bike for occasional city duties and mostly for long distance touring (lightly loaded or sometimes 2 up) through big bumps and pot-holes, tarmac and dirt track no-roads, busy traffic and whatever else the journey throws at you. New Transalp XL 750: + Light, Nimble, Fast, Reliable, VFM Maintainance, Cool Engine, 5 Year Warranty - Limited Ground Clearance, Basic Suspension, Tubed Tires (These can be upgraded with a Custom Rally Build: 2-3K USD+) Used Triumph Tiger 900 RP: (2001 - 5K Kms - Loaded Accesories) + All Round Champ, Creature Comforts, Top-notch Fit and Components, Built for the Beating, Terrific Suspension and GC - Higher Spares/Maintainance, Iffy Electronics Reliability and Heating in Traffic🔥🥵 are the Primary Concerns holding me back! Awaiting your suggestion... P.S. Riding Style: Hooligan'ish

Nice review! I appreciate that you showed the less desirable features of the Transalp… it got better as you learned the controls 🤣. Deep sand is difficult for most bikes/riders. It seems Honda values making controls that are not intuitive. Other KZbinrs make the bike sound perfect by downplaying its shortfalls. I’m sure it is a good bike, but maybe not near the top of the middle Adv’s off pavement. I would still consider buying it since I ride much more on pavement. There seems to be a lot of value at a $9999 MSRP. Do you know why Honda dropped the power output to 83 Hp vice the 91+ Hp in Europe?
@Rickybobby134011 ай бұрын
In Australia ours are 90hp, but we don't get quicksilver, it's optional
@manybikes11 ай бұрын
Well, I show it how it is… no sugar coating. The electronics should be easier to function and be able to stay off even when key is cycled. Keep settings until the rider changes them. I’m unsure why the US model was limited in HP. I did ask, and the Honda reps didn’t have an answer. Thanks for watching!
@manybikes11 ай бұрын
Bummer…
@elgringoec11 ай бұрын
The answer is they put a secret keystroke to disable the "safety" features, you're not likely to stumble across them. Looks like there's a method to their madness. They want to be able to claim that the operator made a deliberate choice so he/she can't go after deep pockets to cover mistakes.
@elgringoec11 ай бұрын
I thought of a better way to revert the bike back to safeties on after a power cycle: switch back to standard mode. Keep them off in user mode so the operator just has to return to that mode and click proceed or abort to a warning message about potential dangers.
