As many other comments on this video, I can't understand why italians are selling tons of euro V cool, poweful,fast (and pricey) sport bikes whilst Honda who produced v4 engines for decades seems to be interested on cheap inline 2 bikes. I still hope in a Japan quality and reliability new Honda V4.

Before I got my VFR I had FJRs. A lot of the riders of those seem to have migrated onto bikes like the Tracer 9. I too much prefer old school bikes like VFR/FJR/ST types but I fear their day is done. Just glad I lived through that era.

@@jeremyr62 Yea you maybe right Jeremy, fjrs also my type of bike, I have to admit Riding my mates tracer 9 is fun, but getting back on Vfr, is always "ah that's more like it" . Thanks again 👍

I love the torque and the pulling power of the VFR, two up, fully loaded will out drag 90% of the rest. Love that you can have fun on the twisties and sit on it for hours munching motorway miles. Love the style and love the V4. But best of all is DCT.

I think Gary as you quite rightly pointed out, the mystery (to us maybe not Honda) is how the Italian manufacturers can churn out big v4s ,although obviously Ducati are predominantly a racing based organisation (perhaps thats not the most accurate term) and may find having a V4 road bike is more important to them.🤔. Either way i guess tine will tell, but I'll think wishfully in meantime.. Cheers 👍

Those FZ 750s were pretty actually. Comfortable and fast. My first bike was an full fairing FZ750, loved it but had an accident with it and damaged it the sold it.

Interesting subject. I don't know enough on the technicalities to give any sort of objective opinion. I understand that Honda stopped production of their V4, citing emmisions as being the decisive factor (I presume 2016 Euro IV or maybe the, then upcoming, 2020 Euro V). Its weird how Italian manufacturers _can_ produce liquid cooled, V4, large bore, high power Euro V compliant powerplants, yet Honda seem incapable 🤷. The Panigale V4, for example, is crazy powerful and Euro V/V+ compliant. I don't imagine Honda can't do the same/similar, but more that they don't want to right now. Must be a strategic, or commercial, move, but only they know. I remember when Triumph phased out the Daytona 955i, never producing a 1050 version, or later 1200 version, although maintaining the Speed Triple with those engines. Low sales, one assumes, due to (and I launch into pure speculation) high insurance costs(?), or lack of interest in the sports segment, or rider demographics. Again, no idea.

Unfortunately Graham and as much as I would like Honda to make another VFR, I don't think they will. Too expensive to develop a V4 engine. In the meantime I will just enjoy my VFR750!

Graham I'm curious, saw in one of your other vids you mentioned the tank on the 2012+ isn't actually bigger it's just the pump takes less space in the tank. Where did you get this info from? Also do you know what the difference is supposed to be in the fueling system to improve economy, is it supposed to be physical parts or just mapping?
@Grahamvfr3 ай бұрын
@@REDGRIFFIN100 Hi yes I'd heard anecdotaly about it, then saw in an old mag Ride October 2012. look at 58 secs on linked video. This is backed up by a supposed insignificant increase ( half a litre) which would hardly warrant a re design. I believe the improvement was purely mapping, as the physical systems appear the same. ECU is different. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZKxnGqkp5uIaK8si=JVWfE5eSX69MvAeO Hope that helps
