What Honda fan boys don't realize is that as long as they keep paying outrageous prices for a rebranded econo box "Performance car" Honda has no incentive to build another proper 2 door RWD sports car like the S2000. Now that Toyota and Hyundai have stepped up their performance game Honda is arguably the most boring major car manufacturer. Sad but true

@@CTF33 Label it with whatever adjectives you feel like. Its simple economics, you cant fight it, just as how you cant fight the weather. If I was in the market for this car and I was asked to pay 60k, my options are simple. Pay it or dont. If nobody decides to pay the markup, the price will come down. The price is where it is because people are lining up to pay it. They having a disposable income than you isnt a demerit. This has been how the world works since the beginning of time. I am seeing USED FK8s going for close to 40k. Its called DEMAND.

Doubtful - they made the orifice on the high pressue line small on purpose to limit power on the FK8 knowing we would tune it. With the Xdi pump being available now fuel isnt much of an issue till about 600whp and then you can add port injection to take you to 760whp - past that youll need motec and huge port injection but 1000whp fuel is possible. Im making 566whp on 2000cc injectors, xdi pump, dw300c intank pump

Really, mark up is something absolutely impossibile in Europe. MSRP and then when you go to the dealer they cut 10% of discount. Always unless is a Ferrari or a supercar

Try to look around for MSRP or at least a small markup if you’re willing to pay it. Every single one of these I’ve seen has had at least a 14k markup.

its a beautiful car! i love Honda and esp. the Type R variant's but lets not forget it is a Civic. Even though the car is an amazing performer in my opinion it is worth the MSRP price. id pay 45k for it not a penny more. You have to be NUTS to pay 60k+ for that. The civic Type r was definitely on my "next car" list but i was afraid of one thing, it being priced out of desire! At 60k+ if I'm looking for "drivers car" i can get a slightly used or Pre-owned BMW M2, Audi RS3 or even a Mustang GT350 and get significantly more performance for that price. Honda dealers are smoking crack.

@@TheFK8Life i never doubted the power it can make, Honda makes phenomenal engines. It's just not worth it past a certain price point. There is a Honda dealer in long beach, California that wants $75,000 + tax for it!!!! That's absurd. Yes it a type R but it's still a civic and to pay 80k for is a Civic is straight up highway robbery. As much as i love the CTR at that point i rather get a RS3

@@LucasSi919 Type R has more interior space and is a useable hatch - the RS3 costs more with markup and is pretty cramped - it also doesnt handle as well as the R - I gapped an RS3 pretty easily on PCH a few weeks ago with 2 passengers lol Its your money tho - I bought my R from LB Honda for 12k over - its still worth 53k with my mileage used - car will hold its value

It's the same motor and OBD2 port...why wouldn't the same Hondata Flashpro that worked for the fk8 work for this. I'm sure Honda continued to same money using the same Bosch ECU.

The motor isnt the same - its revised with a dual port on the exhaust side as well as larger cooling passges and piston skirt coatings/design - the turbo is changed as well. Car makes 25wtq more than FK8 and 11whp more up top on same boost level (stock) - more testing to see how it responds to a tune soon
