...You know, I ship characters, but never in a million years would I have thought of ClivexGav 😂. I'm not sure how I feel about that one. I guess I just liked Jill with Clive too much to ship him around, lol. Now, Joshua and Dion in a forbidden love triangle (given the fact that they're technically step-brotherd), yeah...I like that ship, a little 😅. Or Joshua and Theodore, if he could've met him before the incident where Theodore goes and chases the dragon. Not sure why not just Jote (or was it Yote?). Maybe because she came across as a little fanatical for Joshua (like all of the Undying) and that's not the grounds you want base a relationship off of.

@@aSHTEBALA XVI gives the player rings that will automate or make certain gameplay elements more generous toward the player (e.g., stamping the dodge button input on screen when you are able to dodge an attack). These exist as an accessibility feature for players who would otherwise struggle or not want to engage with combat. Some players do not realize they have these rings equipped, and there have been complaints about "easy" combat that then revealed the critic in question was using these accessibility features to make things as easy and simple as possible.

I played mostly with the rings, but my issue wasn't the ease of the battles. It's that, no matter if you're just hitting square or mashing a mix of buttons... It was still just never-ending button mashing with no real strategy to it.

Fun fact: Ultima means “the end”, “the last”, or just “final” and the word Mythos (which he calls Clive) mean “Fantasy” so if they merged like Ultima wanted they’d be a “Final Fantasy”. Also makes sense to why the last weapons are also called the Ultima in a square Enid game.

Conclusive side quests tend to be nice like Torgal, Gav, Jill, and Joshua, and Theodore then we have Dame Isabelle and L'ubor conclusion which looks like dora the explorer rejected plot.

Honestly this is one of the most fair reviews of the game I've seen yet. I had a blast, and while I've got my own criticisms of the game (mostly focused around the shallow gearing system), I'm really bewildered by some of the pure hate the game has gotten for things that have been in every FF game since III.

Well for some reason people just love to hate everything they can possibly hate. Doubly so if someone dares to like something that doesn't suit their tastes. That on top of evergoing battles between old and new fans of FF starting from first few games - didn't help either. But yeah... I am torn of gearing and macgic stuff. I feel like I would loved the game so much more if those systems were deeper, but at the same time I kinda can't imagine 16 with those. Maybe in the next action like FF we will see such improvments

Berserker Ring, Genji Glove, and spell accessories are all you need. Only use cheat accessories for replays so you can get special rewards by beating bosses without taking damage. That said..... Just keep practicing, you will inprove.

Bruuuhhhh I'm literally crying! This is hilarious! It's so accurate. I personally love this game. The story, the characters, the designs, I think it's fantastic. And I liked that I could choose to either have fun and breeze through the story, or challenge myself into making complex combos, learning the moves of bad guys to properly dodge and earn the trophies in the arcade mode from the Arete Stone.

Very fun video! The narration is hilarious, love the jokes. I think the similarities you see in a lot of the other games you mentioned are definitely valid and it's fun to think about, but it didn't stop my enjoyment of the game for the most part. I did have some specific criticisms of it though like the amount of times Clive says Torgal's name in some parts of the game drove me nuts XD also some inconsistency in the storytelling as far as showing the character relationships build. You get really great scenes but then the in-between gameplay a lot of times has almost no interactions between them, like when battling or running together. Nothing that stopped me from playing but definitely noticeable and one thing Remake and other games definitely have over XVI. Overall have loved XVI though. Your video is a fun way to digest what you can expect out of the game, even if I don't agree entirely with everything but thus the nature of life! And especially love the Tidus/Yuna and Cloud/Tifa shoutout at the end. I agree, and people in the FF fandom have been screaming about the obvious CloTi/CliJi parallels for a long time haha, Clive and Jill are definitely iconic at this point! Gotta say it feels good when someone isn't scared about mentioning Cloud and Tifa are obviously the couple of FFVII! Been obvious for 26 years (who else is wearing matching outfits? lol) but some ppl still acting like they just can't tell XD

I honestly really enjoyed this entry, to the point that it's up there competing with X and XIV for my favorite, which is saying something since X has the nostalgia factor and XIV has the MMO benefit. That said, I can absolutely get a lot of the complaints about certain aspects, particularly in the first third of the game where it's extremely slowly paced for a while. It's just that many of those complaints really don't bother me. I think it's kind of the issue almost every FF game has, where none of the entries will be for everyone, but everyone can find their own favorites as a result.
