I was once told: when you in a relationship with non Christian, you're sitting on top of the tree, the non Christian is at the bottom of the tree. Your both pulling on the same string, it's easier to pull someone down, than pull someone up. Just keep that in mind.

I love you guys. I’m almost 80, but still young-and BTW you will never feel old in your mind. Everyone around my age still see themselves as around middle thirties. So it is a shock sometimes to meet yourself in the mirror. One thing I sense (and it may not be so), but after watching a few of your interactive videos, Nate, you love doing them, but at the same time maybe you feel a little exposed and uncomfortable. And maybe you’re just young and not settled into yourself, yet. But it takes a lot of courage for the two of you to open up a public forum to get your love of Jesus and living a clean life out there. I pray that the seed you’re sowing falls on fertile ground, especially among the young people who find your channel.

It's not sexist. He's talking about what is or isn't attractive to him as a straight man. On the topic of a relationship, how he personally feels about other men doesn't matter as much because he wouldn't be attracted to them anyway.
@HopeUnquenchable4 жыл бұрын
jacky o, he didn’t actually say that. He said that most people try to impress online with their photos - especially the first photo they send to whoever they’re talking with. He was actually impressed that she _didn’t_ try hard to impress him with that first photo ☝️
@HopeUnquenchable4 жыл бұрын
jacky o, you’re right, I just rewatched that bit, and he did say those things 😝 I can see how you got the impression that he thought she should have sent a better picture, but the impression I got, came more from what he said after she explained why she didn’t go through all the trouble of, you know, blow-drying and fixing her hair, putting on makeup and her best outfit just to take that “Yes, I am really me” photo to send him ☝️ Having watched some of their other videos where they talked about how they first got in touch and started getting to know each other, I recall that the photos he saw of her on Facebook before he even started talking to her were gorgeous, professional shots that made her look like a model, so I interpreted his reaction to the “holding name” photo, not as one of disappointment, but surprise that she wasn’t trying to impress him with more of that kind of look, and just sent a completely normal - even slightly goofy - snapshot of herself as she happened to be at the time. When he said, “I think it worked, because I was like, ‘Hmm! She’s not really trying to impress me too much,’ so it kinda made me more intrigued,” the impression I got was that it surprised him, but in a good way 😉

I love her reasoning behind not getting dolled up for that first photo: “If you don’t like me at that moment, then you’re just not gonna like me, because that’s how I am.” There’s a confident woman who’s comfortable in her own skin - the opposite of a catfish! I know _I’d_ have a really hard time sending a photo that real of myself to someone if I really liked them (granted, I’m not as naturally good-looking as Sutton); I’d have to put all kinds of disclaimers on it before sending, and be like, “Sorry it’s not the best picture of me; I just got out of the shower and I don’t normally wear makeup at home, so this is just what you’d see if you walked into my room right now 😳,” and have all sorts of anxiety that he’ll see the picture and think, “Ew, that’s what you look like? We should probably just be friends.” 😅

@vicachekhovskiy5 жыл бұрын
The ability to pray in tongues is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and God does not distribute the same gifts to every person. This is why churches need to encourage people to ask God to reveal their Holy Spirit gifts to them, so that people can use them in God’s favor. This does not mean tongues are not an amazing gift of the Holy Spirit, I’m saying that not everyone is made to have that gift, and it cannot just be passed on from a person. Every gift comes from God, and not every person is meant to have the ability to speak in tongues.

Mega respect to you guys!!!! Love seeing this kind of content put out there. A little fact about me i grew up in a Mennonite church group (kinda like Amish but we could have electric and cars ect) anyway they were the very strict group. Ladies always have to wear dresses, a covering on their head ect. When i was 24, for various reasons, we left and went to a more liberal church. And since leaving we have had many family and friends "abandon" and try and preach at us and convince us we are wrong, because in their words we are "going to hell" because i no longer wear a head covering. I do always wear modest, skirt and shirt i have been convicted against pants for now. So anyway when yall talked about sharing beliefs with people it did bring that to mind....now i know everyone's experience isnt like ours but that can be a very big turn off when tbey come at you like you're a sinner and you HAVE to conform to their church. Anyway...all that to say, not all mennonites are bad, and i still do love and respect them but am thankful i have found freedom to be who God created me to be and can be a light for Him where he has called me, and yall greatly encourage me. Worst advice is to never go to bed angry. It’s ok to take time to cool off, to process what your spouse has said and the way they are feeling, and then reconvene to talk it over more calmly and with fresh thoughts. I know that no kissing before marriage sounds really extreme, but it seriously helped us so much in our dating and engagement. We sure didn't do everything perfect, but we don't have any big regrets. Praise Jesus 🙌

That sounds so cool. I have thought about doing that before, but I am already struggling with the commitment made not to kiss until I'm engaged.

You guys have such amazing personalities! Lol and it’s refreshing to see that along with how transparent and HONEST you guys are with us about yourselves/your relationship! It really reminds everyone that we are all human and that Christians are not aliens. This channel is sooo different from even other Christian marriage channels. In an awesome way! God bless you guys and may he keep helping y’all spread his word and truth through here! 🤗 I’m so glad I found this channel.

Oh, and one thing I might add, is that I write my prayers at night before sleep; I call it writing letters to God. Praying out loud is something I’m going to try, too.

Hey Nate and Sutton! I love your videos and I’m so happy y’all are passionate about spreading the message of God. As someone who did anthropological studies throughout college and also believes in God, I highly recommend reading scholarly books on evolution before dismissing it. It’s not that it’s something we can argue on, because it is scientific fact. The amount we know on evolution goes above and beyond what we know to be true about God. To trust in Him is amazing, but we shouldn’t let it blind us from the truth of the world. To say it’s all a work of God is one thing, but to say it doesn’t exist is just not true. Through the Lens of Anthropology: An Introduction to Human Evolution and Culture Is a great book to start with.

I love this video so much aha. You guys are so personal and I really appreciate that! :) EDIT: Also for the boundaries question, I've learned that the key to setting up strong boundaries is also making sure that all parties involved understand a clear and strong consequence for breaching that boundary. It's human nature to test boundaries which is why having consequences for the actions can be extremely beneficial.

What worship songs do you recommend? And what is your opinion on listening to secular music?
@yailinayala43415 жыл бұрын
Elevation , new wine worship . And secular music has spirits in them from the world and it takes God's timing and level of maturity with his word and prayer and fasting to be able to stand firm as his child and still understand the spirits in the world operating .

Sorry if it is not explained properly but I can give you a call and explain much better out of experience
@bigred87305 жыл бұрын
Pam I feel like worship is for you to decide what works for you. Just listen to music and find what you like. I love a lot of specific worship songs but that's mostly because of my taste.
@shylaroseh1685 жыл бұрын
I’m on Spotify Shyla Rose Hope and I have a playlist called Jesus Tunes that I absolutely LOVE. You will find a lot of good worship songs on there. Secular music, I don’t think it’s a sin to listening to it or anything. But you need to pay attention to what is going you because that’s what your feeding off of. If you are listening to music about sex, drugs, partying it’s going to be something you think about all the time. You want your heart and head to be filled with god but when your putting those dirty things into it your not as pure as you could be. I listen to a lot of jazz and older music like Frank Sinatra. The music is all about falling in love which is sweet, but it’s still not praising God so I try not to listen to it too much.

Yes at night is not the time to talk about anything very important. Lol My hubby and I have realized that about arguing before bed...that you just have a harder time talking things over and resolving things. When you’re tired from the day’s work and you’re frustrated it’s just really hard to talk through things well without getting angry. We do try not to be angry going to bed but it does happen sometimes! I think it’s unavoidable sometimes. Lol But you do need to make up as fast as you can because you never know when you or your husband’s lives will be over and I know I’d feel so sad if one of us passed away with our last words to each other being rude ones. 😢 You guys are sooo hilarious and cute together! Your videos always have me in stitches! 🤣❤️ The part when Nate was pretending to rip off a bandaid made me die. 🤣🤣 We had a chaperone most of the time and it really helped us. We weren’t perfect either but we saved the biggest things (kissing and intimacy!) and we tried really hard and prayed a lot and had to readjust our priorities again and again to make sure we were on the same page and as our relationship progressed, things got harder so we had to set up new (or more) boundaries. 😊

It’s funny how people live their lives a certain way, and then look back and are like “You should live your life in an idealistic way that I did not” but yet, their life now is just fine having not lived that idealistic lifestyle.. they’re married, they’re doing fine. The grass is always greener, don’t do what people say, always do what people do (who are successful) ;)

Andrew Parvin Why does it have anything to with people getting they’re teeth whitened? It should be about the Lord. Not how great we can look, dress, or how much we can workout to see how big our muscles can get. Thats a bunch of showing off.
