"God didn't bring me and Sutton together until I was prepared." Straight wisdom right there. People get caught up in wanting relationships now, not realizing that God's making us wait so that we can work on being the best version of ourselves for that special person.
@jccarty14774 жыл бұрын
I don't think I believe this. What does the best version of yourself mean? And when is that? The moment you think you're your best version of yourself, something will come along and show you your flaws. And I don't say that from a place of cynicism. I think you meet someone and you work with who you both are with where you're both at. You can stay single to work on becoming your best self all you want but then you meet someone and that stuff becomes undone. You can wait till you've dealt with that sin or that attitude or earned enough money or advanced in your career or WHATEVER...then life happens and you discover more about yourself. There is no right time. You both meet. With all your hopes, excitement, lust and fantasies. Plus all of your wounds and garbage. Then together, your navigate this UNCHARTED territory called a new relationship.

I know. A husband should be willing to lay his life down like Christ gave his life for the church and he is clinging on to a FB account where it puts him in jeopardy of seeing naked women. That’s really selfish and not what Jesus would do-AT ALL. It’s because he’s young.. as he matures and marriage makes him less selfish hopefully he will see that is just completely unacceptable. That wouldn’t slide with most married women-Christian or otherwise.

Was kinda weird, him saying that. Like, I would lose respect if my father, a married man, were reaching out to other females. Boundaries. Boundaries. Boundaries. The lack of boundaries today is incredible. This marriage won't last long without the proper use of boundaries, and the guy trying to break those while his wife abides by them. Idk, this was weird, tbh. Please be more serious about guarding your marriage for your child's sake, at least.

Sarah Tucker I didn’t say ignoring the opposite sex , I meant just not trying to reach out privately or continuing a private conversation unless completely necessary for school or work purposes, etc. Everyone has a boundary of what works for them and each person knows their own heart, my husband and I have been in different situations and have seen Satan try to ruin our marriage in different ways and we decided that this boundary is best for us and I encourage it for others.

I think when you are in a relationship with your husband /wife, you should feel so satisfied by only having their company and so fulfilled that you don't need a "friend" of the opposite gender. I think Sutton is 100% right. Always remember when fighting with your spouse it is important not to be against each other you two are on the same team with a common goal of being happy together and so both parties should be willing to compromise and usually it should be the person who is doing something which makes the other unhappy no matter how minor they think it is especially if it's something that doesn't really matter like Facebook.

Sutton, I agree with you. Having friends that are the opposite sex that aren't mutual friends with you as a "couple", is not a healthy idea. It leads to nowhere. It may seem innocent at first, but I would suggest reading over the verse about guarding your heart. For out of it comes all of the issues of life.

Never heard of the apology language - thanks for sharing about that! For some people, simply saying "sorry" is genuinely enough. So no wonder couples can remain in conflict bc the apology wasn't received well.

I just discovered your channel and I love this video! I'm almost through my first year of marriage (my anniversary is coming up on Sunday!) It has been an amazing year of growth, but filled with ups and downs. I love what you guys said about practicing the attributes of love found in Corinthians. It's good to remind ourselves what love looks like in this crazy busy life. God bless you guys! Looking forward to watching more videos and applying your advice to my own marriage!

To help with the issue of peeing on the floor, I recommend installing a toilet bowl light that has a light sensor. One can be found on Amazon for less than $30

These are the same exact fights me and my husband had before we got married😅 Luckily we were able to talk it through before we got married. But the Facebook and TV thing is always hard to navigate.

Yes, seriously. Just make a new Facebook. Your heart, mind, and marriage, and Sutton's heart, mind and sanity (among other things) are worth SO so much more than the simple effort of just quickly making a new Facebook.

Love this video 😍 I can totally relate to these moments you've been through, me and my fiance just got engaged but we've had some couple of fights like this, I also had the tendency to just get up and leave and it made him really sad and angry because he felt like I was giving up on us, and I try not to do that anymore, instead we try to take a deep breathe and talk to each other about how we feel and what has bothered us and how we can fix this for the future while maintaining eye contact because it really helps and reminds us that we don't fight against each other, but together against a problem ❤️
