I tried durian. It has strong smell but tastes good. Hold your nose and you can get most of the sweet taste. Advice: do not transport durian in your car trunk/boot. It will smell the whole car.

Durian is absolutely delicious and happily could eat it morning noon and night, except there's a slight issue that restricted me eating that much durian. I was going Thailand for four to five months every year to escape winter and stay with my ex-wife. And wherever we went to visit the family and extended family it involved drinking lots of alcohol and eating lots of food I also drank more alcohol back at our house into the early hours of the morning. The reason I was restricted from eating durian is that alcohol and durian together is a serious health risk putting your life in danger. Now I don't drink alcohol anymore the next time I have a durian stall in front of me it's getting demolished 3 portions at a time and that's a minimum btw 😊

Durian is like garlic and onion, pretty strong when eaten raw. But if you cook it, it mellows out, and tastes more like a delicious cream (still a little pungent though). Raw durian mixed with butter and sugar, then place it on puff pastry and make a roll, cut into strudels, and its deliciousness will come out on top :)
