Coruscant was added in 1997 which was before the Phantom Menace, although the fans already knew the planet from the books. But yes, for normal people that was a weird adition. Naboo was added later in 2004 for the DVDs. Along Hyden Christensen. That was released between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. The shot of the celebration is a reversed shot of the Phantom Menace with people added to the streets and rooftops.
@MartinWenzelYT7 жыл бұрын
Yes, exactly what I was going to point out. Courscant, Cloud City, and Mos Eisley were added in 97...Naboo was added with the DVD release, Darth Vader's NOOOOOs came with the Blu-Rays...it really is hard to keep track of at this point...sigh

sansfi I really didn’t like that they put Hayden Christensen at the end of RotJ. I hope they extend it even further with Luke saying “Who the f*ck is this guy”.

I knew of Coruscant from the PC videos games. When I saw that scene in 97 I thought it was cool, espescially since the visual was fairly similar that that in the Tie Fighter cutscenes. Have a look at the intro here from the 1995 edition here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqbZdZJ8ebiSoKc

Jedi is probably my fourth favorite Star Wars Movie, but the Luke/Vader/Emperor confrontation is my favorite scene in any of the movies. Luke just losing all pretense and whaling at Vader being my favorite single moment in all of Star Wars up to this point.
@arashimiyazawa81654 жыл бұрын
19:24 Go back and watch New Hope again and really LOOK at what people are wearing and you'll see "random Jedi" everywhere for the first quarter of the movie, including freaking Uncle Owen. When Lucas started making Phantom Menace he decided that the audience was too dumb to recognize a Jedi unless they dressed like Alec Guinness from ANH, so he decided that was their official uniform. The problem is that Alec Guinness in ANH is just dressed like "a person who lives on Tattooine". This also explains the "why is this Jedi in hiding still dressing like a Jedi?" plot hole. He's not dressed like a Jedi, he's dressed like a desert hermit. The real question should be "Why do all Jedi dress like they grew up on Tattooine?"

Regarding the guy surrendering who was dressed as a stormtrooper -- the one scout trooper that the Rebels captured (@ the bunker, after Wicket's buddy flew off on a speeder bike) was actually stripped of his armor. You saw then saw the rebel commando in the background pretending the stand guard (as a stormtrooper) when Han and part of the team entered the bunker.

The cuts to various planets was satisfying you don’t need to be familiar with where they are but realise that the galaxy hated the empire. The music just topped it off. The first movie I ever saw on opening day. Have to admit the crowd was jacked and was really into the whole Ewok rebellion. It is silly in hindsight, but I have to say I know I enjoyed it way more than E.T. , which I felt was for little kids. Also of note, an Ewok death is pretty much one of the few deaths to actually get mourned on screen. As to the Special Edition(s), I feel the original was pretty harmless with nothing on the level of Greedo shooting first. The celebrations seemed a little hurried considering the size of the galaxy and the likelihood that Coruscant should be filled with imperial loyalists and military who'd be still in power. Then they kept making changes that really made it worse. Adding Hayden Christianson always annoyed me because I've always tried to separate in my mind his portrayal of the character from the awesomeness of Darth Vader. Also, it makes no sense that Luke would recognize him (and after the prequels it made no sense he'd become a Force Ghost at all).

You don’t think ROTJ is too many people’s favorite Star Wars movie? While I can’t speak for others, I can unequivocally say that it is indeed my favorite Star Wars movie. Where else does Luke reach maturity, become a Jedi knight, and experience his Via Crucis, thereby masterfully completing his Hero’s Journey? You also arguably have the most emotional and spiritual lightsaber battle of the Star Wars saga take place. And as a bonus, you get Leia in the historic metal bikini.

I really want Spencer to do Honest History; just him tearing apart movies with historical inaccuracies. On that note, Little Big Horn doesn't really belong on that list. If Custer had been going up against 2000 native americans with bows and tomahawks, he may actually have had a chance of winning. But no, Custer was even dumber than that. Those 2000 native americans HAD GUNS. Specifically, repeating rifles. Shorter range, but far higher volume of fire than the 7th Cavalry could muster. Even though the natives he was chasing had been known to use feigned retreats to lead US soldiers in to ambushes, Custer was too blinded by his own prejudices to consider he could possibly be outsmarted by "savages." Custer lead 200 men against 2000 natives who had horses, repeating rifles, better knowledge of the territory, and a very sound strategy for dealing with US cavalry forces. The native americans weren't technologically inferior, they were actually superior in every way. And Custer knew all this ahead of time. That is how dumb/racist Custer was.
