The Sentai that came out after this show, Battle Fever J, was almost an adaptation of Captain America before basically becoming a team of Captain Americas where utilizing "dances of the world" is part of their powerset. Battle Japan, Miss America, Battle France, Battle Cossack and Battle Kenya make up the team. I'd love to see an honest tv trailer for this one day before a Marvel movie. lol

Your selling it short. In the final episode Amazona figures out who Spider-Man is. Poisons him and is betrayed by Professor Monster. Who is fleeing Earth because Spider-Man had basically defeated all his monsters.

This Spider-man TV series makes sense with Super Sentai (the tv show where we get the clips, suits, some of the villains and megazords to create Power Rangers ) and Kamen Rider (similar Super Sentai) both licensed by Toei Company. Good choice SJN!

It’s seems like that creators already had a show and a premise in place before Spider-Man was and idea . Most likely once the deal between Marvel and Toiee went through , they had to rush to fit Spider-Man into the story . It’s just so wacky and ridiculous that this makes sense but then again nothing from 1970s Japan made sense .

Actually the dynamics of Marvel's marketing deal started with Supaidaman but then followed with a project that started with the concept of "Tokusatsu Captain America", contracted Disco Fever and eventually turned into the Sentai show Battle Fever J(Swapping Cap for the character Miss America). But to mark they were were affiliated with Marvel, this Sentia show was designated a Super Sentai show. Which is the term for all successive power ranger shows. (Yes it had a giant robot). Also, Stan Lee liked it so much he tried really hard to get the third series adapted to American TV.

As a Japanese-American, i love this review. Thank you for showing how ridiculous Japanese people can be sometimes. Anyone who cries "this is racist!" Or "you just don't understand Japanese/Asian culture!" can go to the corner of their bathroom and cry to their hearts content. I grew up watching these kinds of shows and anime. I vaguely remember this one. AND IT WAS AS BAD AS GO RANGERS! (Power Rangers for my American friends). I think I need to rewatch this now

This show introduces the world to the concept of Henshin (instant transformation, much better than nanotech trust me), and also inspired Sentais/Power Rangers to have big Robots, Kamen Riders to have vehicles and based on insects fighting a crime organization, and also was the reason Transformer and Big Hero 6 were created. A true Legend.
