On a lesser level Mariah has continually set the standard & the trend. Her singing style is probably one of the most notable aspects. The multiple remixes & versions of songs. The music she was releasing in the late 90’s inspired the music but more specifically the production of the songs of the early 00’s. She was a pioneer for the new school & her influence on the generations after her are still evident in today’s music. The runs, the way people layer vocals on a track, etc.

I’m so grateful that I got to see her in a small venue in 2000. She didn’t lip sync at all, her voice was simply amazing and beautiful! I’ll also never forget her wonderful performance on SNL in 1997, both Butterfly and My All gave me goosebumps. She doesn’t have any bad albums, I really liked the music on Glitter as soon as it came out, I didn’t care about the negative vibes surrounding her at the time. I’ve always wondered why there were 2 versions of Heartbreaker on it- now I know.Charmbracelet is underrated, I listened to Clown on repeat and loved knowing that it was about Eminem. ( I am a fan of J.
