I don't get how people don't care about the folding feature, it's the #1 reason I bought the gun. Although I used to live in a farm and it would be less important, I now live in an urban area in a multi family dwelling, so being able to fold it up and place it in a backpack to transport is HUGE. I also live in Canada so just walking from my house to my car without anyone knowing is HUGE. It allows me to freely transport the gun without needing a big ass plastic case that draws attention, and that's very important to me. It keeps me reaching for this gun over others over and over again

I like the fact that it folds for obvious compact storage capabilities. Also the scope and red dot features that come with it are great too. It shoots very well. Well worth the price of admission.

The reason for the tabs on the mags is due to the M&P compact being a 15 rd mag. You can also use 17 round mags with the little tabs so there is no gap. I got used to them, but to each their own. Since I own the M&P compact, I'm definitely getting one of these. Nice review!

It looks very interesting. For a small security team at a public place, a folding pcc is easy to carry concealed. It also is more accurate than a pistol without having the negative connotation of an SBR. Also, instead of ripping the carbine out of the folded position, you can pull back on the charging handle to release the lock up. It should save on the wear and tear of the latching system. Great first look, thank you two.

Well I didn't KNOW I wanted a folding PCC when I woke up this morning...but here we are. I feel like this would be a fun +1 addition to my newly acquired M&P M2.0 Compact for my collection. The mag compatibility is appealing, and so is running a lightweight carrier setup with all M&P pistol mags (a lot of them, because of the space allotted on the rig). A 30rd M&P mag would be ideal, but let's hope S&W keeps the innovation trend rolling that they've been on and makes that a reality. Overall...would.

Glad to see they're following the trend of interchangeable magazines between PCCs and handguns. In my mind it's a 50% discount for every magazine you buy since it can be for both your PCC and pistol. Only thing I'm iffy on is the button for the magazine holder. It won't be anyone's first instinct to press the opposite button to unclip a magazine from the stock. Otherwise looks like a great Sub 2k alternative.

This always happens. Keltec invents a new concept. Then they release a prototype level development of product with semi spotty QC and really iffy availability. Then someone else takes the concept, refines it, nails QC, and then pumps them out by the thousands. The Ruger LCP vs the Keltec P3AT, or the Sig P365 vs the overlooked decades old and spec sheet identical Keltec P11 are good examples.

I own a 2nd gen sub2k and have not shot this S&W yet. I'm pretty sure the build quality of this S&W is better than the sub2k, but for what my intended purpose for a folding pcc (backpacking, camping), the sub2k fits my needs better in that when folded, the sub2k is "flatter" and fits in my backpack better, this S&W would be "thicker". One thing I def don't like about the sub2k is no last round bolt hold-open. But it's intended role for me is convenience and it has been very reliable...and at about $200 less, I'm happy with the Sub2k.

You mentioned the Keltec 2000. That's the one that vibrates and feels like it punches you in the face every shot. It's fine if you don't rest your cheek on stock. S&W did good with this one! It looks like Mrs Outlaw is keeping this one!

Nice review. Great S&W is giving us more options. My sub2K takes Glock mags and hits steel at 75 yards just fine w the standard sites. It has been 100% reliable. I like the S&W folding better but I think the choice is whether you carry a Glock or S&W pistol. I may “need” both!

If this ppc was out when I bought a Sub 2000 MSeries with the MCarbo operators package I probably would have bought the Smith. I really like the Sub 2000. Comparing the basic Sub 2000 to the MSeries with the operators package is like comparing a basic Camero to a Vet! No plastic trigger parts, can fold with an optics mounted, compensator, improved release latch, etc. In short it has all the MCarbo internal and external aftermarket upgrades. I really like it a lot. It is very accurate and reliable but it costs-at least $1,100!

With so much similarity to the M&P 2.0 pistols it is insane to me they didn't carry over a thumb safety! The ambi thumb safety on the M&P 2.0 pistols is decent and functional. Looks like there is plenty of real estate for an ambi safety on the frame/grip as well.

Probably a packaging issue
@EngineersArmory
@EngineersArmory Жыл бұрын
@@J.Young808 Likely. The firing mechanism in that grip frame, while it looks like an M&P 2.0 pistol, is completely different. It has to be an internal hammer to smack the firing pin in the bolt. It is not an internal pre-cocked striker system like the pistol, so the mechanism that makes the thumb safety work on the pistol would not work on the mechanism of this gun. I don't really think that would be a hard issue to overcome with some design work/iterations. A thumb safety in the back could be a simple mechanical hammer blocking device. I do think this is a cool idea, platform, and first go at it. Hopefully they take customer feedback to heart.

Interesting. In other reviews, the first thing that worried me was the non-adjustable stock. Also, I don't have an M&P but a sig sauer p320, which means I would have two different sets of magazines. The fact that the extra magazine well in the stock is a bit awkward makes me even more hesitant. It's still interesting, but I'm inclined to wait for the 2nd version.

Everyone I shoot it with enjoys it. You gotta have the optic mount that flips to the side to close it. I have had good service out of sub 2000. What I love most about this style of PCC is the smaller size achieved by having the mag run up through the grip. I would love to see a comparison against the Beretta Cx4 Storm from a home defense perspective. Since the brace rule could now dissuade me from going that route.
