Eh, that's sad. The issue is, no matter what else it is, it's just a more accurate way to move an underweight round a little "less slow." Now if they expanded caliber offerings to include .40 or .45 (which would pose a challenge to a blowback system), I'd be inclined to agree. There are plenty of us up north or rural who carry .40 and .45. If you're going slow, go big. And no, take it from a major crimes investigator, there hasn't been a revolutionary jump in 9mm capabilities, there's been a revoluntionary jump in promotional abilities and LEO administrators who figured out it's cheaper to wound perps instead of kill perps.

I'm a master gunsmith/armorer with 35+ years of 'smithing under my belt. I took the Sub2K and upgraded it to the best of my ability, from upgraded parts from companies like Mcarbo to my own modifications. It's much better than stock, I was pretty pleased with it when I finally reached a point I felt I could call "finished". But after playing with this little beast, I felt like I had wasted a lot of time and money on that Keltec... Particularly after watching your destructive testing! You did a fantastic job pushing this carbine to it's limits, as you generally do- I find your channel to be invaluable when I'm evaluating a new gun. Thank you for providing this service. I love mine. It fits in my messenger bag for range trips and I only have to bring one set of mags and ammo. My main gripes are the stored mag release (Floyd’s is working on fixing that) and the compact grip requiring those stupid collars. It does everything I’d want it to without being overly expensive and doesn’t require any stampy action to be fully usable. I paid $660 at my LGS, and even though I’ve found them cheaper elsewhere the price difference is made up by the 23 round mags that would have cost me an additional $50+ each and the drive out of state. Between this and my tacpac M2.0 I have 2-23 and 6-17 round mags. Not that bad a deal in my eyes

The face of the lock isn't 90° it's more like 60-70, so the spring that pulls in the barrel locking face can always tighten down fully like a wedge, this is to counter wear, manufacturing tolerances, and allows it to open when too much force is applied.

Bought mine a few months ago, nearing a thousand rounds myself with only one failure so far. Put some accessories on it, obviously a sight at least, and I've loved using it so far. Biggest positive I have to say about it is just how accurate and reliable this PCC is. Takes nearly every standard loading of 9mm I've fed through it, only some of the super light 65 or less grain projectiles giving it grief. Its made a great first gun for me, and one I'll be happy to carry for years to come.
@martylucas8557 Жыл бұрын
So 65 grain bullets or less are the issue? Alrighty then…who the hell would use a bullet, especially in a PCC that’s less than, let’s say…115? So your test using that ammo is irrelevant and flawed, as it’s not practical or a real life scenario. That being the case you’ve had 100% reliability, otherwise I could load a shell with 20 grains and say it wouldn’t cycle or eject. Given the same 65 grain test to any other firearm it is likely to have many more FTE or FTF scenarios. If you only had one failure using that grained ammo, how many did you shoot?

Another thing I have pit around 1000 rounds or more and the only thing I needed to do was a clean up. Put a red dot Romeo on it and I have been to the gun ranch shooting at 50-100 yards and I have better results that people shooting sig sauer MPX and other weapons that cost as 4 times more. I recently added and obsidian 9 suppressor and I have gotten lot of compliments and with 147 grain that thing is super quiet. If you are not sure I am telling it worth every penny, low recoil, the cheapest most available ammo, light wight very comfortable and again it comes with three magazines (two 21 rounds and 1 17) comes with a nice bag as well. my biggest problem with many pistol caliber carbines (PCCs) is that they have pistol rounds in pistol mags in a forward chambering. I'm thinking of the ruger and of the henry specifically where the magazine isn't in the grip, it's forward a bit. I really liked my beretta cx4 storm because it was right there in the grip. the only reason I didn't like it is because the 18 round mags really didn't fit. you had to use 20rd mags or buy pinky extensions, which at that point you just get the magazine extension.
@jessesando8582 Жыл бұрын
I still like mine, it's a great PCC except for the long barrel. It would be a great SBR conversion, though. The 17 Rd mags (px4 version) do fit, but you're absolutely right, they're countersunk so you can't just slap them in, which is a real problem that I can't believe they let slide. I don't understand why they modeled it around the same line as the PX4 but didn't carry over any of the grip or control aspects. I hope it gets an update one of these days.

I really think they should have figured out a way to put the m&p handgun safety in it.

Thank you for the 2nd video! We had just purchased a His & Hers set prior to your review. My initial thought was that this PCC was going to help us as we are part of the 50's generation! Pistols are much harder for us versus light weight, less recoil carbines, that store in tight places.

I have been really looking forward to seeing this review from you. I have had a lot of interest in getting one of these. And I’m now one big step closer to being ready to buy one. Thank you for the time you put into these videos!

watched your review over the week-end, you actually gave thumbs up on a S&W product, stop in at my local Cabela and brought one home, I did have 10x10 Mags for my M&P handgun and i had a Vortex defender red dot, good to go, Shout out from Calgary, Alberta , Canada

I've ran over a thousand rounds threw mine and love it. And thank you for testing it because I would never put a gun I own threw the testing you did . 👍👍👍👍👍

What happens if the action is cycled and fired on an open or partially open barrel with a loaded magazine installed? Is there a chance of a misfire? 0:11
@PurestPosition Жыл бұрын
It can not fire while open
@ixnorp4270 Жыл бұрын
If the action is cycled while the barrel is open, the round that you just kicked out of the top of the magazine just lands in open space. The round will not lock into the bolt face since there has to be something holding the round in place in order for the extractor to lock over the rim. You can't open the rifle if a round is chambered, but even if you could, the firing pin would no longer be able to reach the back of the cartridge.

I think of all the reviews of the S&W folding carbine, yours is absolutely the best! I would clearly buy this carbine for a backpack weapon. Thanks for the review!
@shanescott3168 Жыл бұрын
I like the new S&W carbine, and you certainly wrang it out. I am glad it is so durable and reliable. I hope S&W will produce a non-folding version. The folding mechanism and stock make it look awkward. I don't need it to fold. My Ruger 9mm carbine is nice and reliable but heavy.

I have watched a LOT of gun review vids and this guys nails it. Thanks for being thorough, diligent and on points. I also have this same rifle and I have found it to be my new go to for travel and into hotel rooms. Anyhow thanks for being an American!

Last year I was looking around this time I was hoping to find something cool around Black Friday sales. I wasn’t looking to buy this in particular. But it was 9mm. And I thought I had seen this video on it, or at least skimmed through it. I re- watched this while think it over and it’s been a blast ever since. So much fun at the range.

Would love to see the durability test in the sub 2000. Thanks for the great content as always!
@robertezell1916 Жыл бұрын
My gen 2 Keltec Sub 2000 is a 1.5" gun at 50 yards all day long and that is suppressed too. Now the optics mount for it, I’m thinking it’s not going to hold up so well so I keep it simple with the sights on it. I did drill out the rear peep sight making it easier for me to get on target quicker. I’m going to try this little S&W CARBINE just to see how it does hold up. I’m thinking I really want one being that my go to SHTF sidearm is the S&W M&P 9. I know all these reviewers are going to torture test these folding guns way beyond what they would actually go through. Stuffed in a nondescript bag of some sort with some extra high capacity mags. These guns would be hard to beat to get you back home. I’m not sure if I will use one as my primary long arm but if I had too I would.

Definitely gotta get me one once I have the money. Especially for only around $600-700. I was kinda sceptical when it was first announced but now overtime I’m convinced. I love the concept and every video I’ve seen of it seems to prove its worth and its reliability.

Looks like a pretty good unit. I've been a fan of the pistol/carbine same mag combo for a while, like how he called it the Wild West system. Someday someone will invent a gun/caliber combination which all in one gun combines all the strengths and no weaknesses of every pistol, rifle and shotgun all in one. We could call it a "laser."
@nickc7320 Жыл бұрын
Nope. Different types of laser beams and strengths will require different battery power, sizes, and types. It will be a curse of specialization and not back of all trades
