Moss side lost all the pubs when City moved out to east mcr. Claremont is the last one. Match day and concerts kept the pubs going. Lots of demographic changes also meant no demand for pubs. I.e. Somalians moving in.

@cp4lyf15 ай бұрын
Even if it’s not standing in the heart of the city centre of Manchester 5 min walk down the road leads you to Salford takes a tad bit longer to get to moss side no matter what hands down end of story so people would class Salford a part of Manchester Rochdale Ashton these places are still classed as in Manchester and are towns in Manchester so dont you even start you weirdo Lol trying to be smart causing unnecessary mess😂

How much per pint ! - wow used to be 99p when I worked next to the claremont. ( but we did have to go en-mass at lunchtime to be safe and remember the characters including the guy who used to try and sell anything he had found in the bins or skip including a single well worn odd shoe !! ). Worth looking up the history of Holts and their charity work.

Salford is not in Manchester. It is a seperate city with about 300,000 residents over a 7 square mile area. It's a big place, going from Ordsall to Cadishead, then across to Little Hulton, and all the way back up to Blackfiars.
@MrBollocks106 ай бұрын
Hmm? Maybe once. I know Salfordians say that. But it's all changed. Manchester is greater Manchester nowadays. And very much part of Manchester. Just like Ashton Under Lyme and Denton and all that side that were Lancashire But ain't anymore. They're all Manchester now.
@paul-ht7fq6 ай бұрын
Most people in Salford have called Manchester their town as in going to town shopping or on a night out in town for years, basically Salford is now just a suburb of Manchester.
@rachel.mcgowan6 ай бұрын
37 square miles actually. And yes it's a separate city, but it's also a satellite of Manchester. It wouldn't have the enhanced status it's come to enjoy in recent years if it wasn't adjacent to Manchester. It would be like Wolverhampton or Peterborough at best.
@jackthelad53666 ай бұрын
You’re right pal , Salford is Salford not a suburb of Manchester, Greater Manchester is a ruse to con the uninformed that Manchester is a big city, even Shaun Ryder corrected a BBC journalist for calling him a Mancunian, “I’m a Salfordian pal” well said Shaun

@@honestplaces Yeah idk what happened to the place now, I guess it just attracted the wrong people overtime. Nothing to really do here apart from a gym, b&m and library. There used to be fairs outside the first house library and GoLocal but they seemed to of stopped those events because less and less people went to them not many people wanted to setup a stall there. (If you wondering where that is, it's opposite the road from the post office, there used to be a marketplace there but it got all turned into townhouses, shop and library) I feel like you just genuinely don't see a lot of outdoor community events in the UK anymore as you used to, mostly councils and big brands doing them now but it's not common at all. Can't tell if we got lazier overtime...

You’re just using the title as click bait. I used to visit Moss Side in the early 80’s to visit my Grandparents on Roseberry St and went to the football there for years. I lived in Longsight for 20 years and that was rough in spots. Moss side even when my folks came over from Ireland in the early 50’s it was always a decent place and I never felt it was shady. If you wanted a drink there you’re about 20 years too late as after City moved out all the pubs went too. .
