Nipped into a corner shop to buy a drink in Moss Side about 15 years ago. Had to go into a caged area before being let in, once deemed to be OK. Only other place I've seen a similar system is with Polar Bears at Yorkshire Wildlife Park.

Moss side lost all the pubs when City moved out to east mcr. Claremont is the last one. Match day and concerts kept the pubs going. Lots of demographic changes also meant no demand for pubs. I.e. Somalians moving in.

It was GENTRIFIED. All for the students. They even merged certain mosside postcodes into hulme. W people and their game of control. Then you have this fool coming along looking down on communities. I went to Partington once and within minutes of me pulling up somebody asked for money to buy eggs, children asked ne to buy then crisps and a horse was walking around wildly. He has several issues, this is his outlet.

It's a matter of opinion but Moss Side isnt too bad, you have the gangs but they battle with each other and i feel safer walking round there than other areas mentioned here in the comments. Moston used to be like the Wild West but now it's had a great influx of African people its a lot safer to walk around at night and that's to its credit. Parts of Cheetham and Broughton are rough but as a separate city, Salford has the roughest estates by far in greater manchester. Good video bro.

I was born in Salford and regularly parked up at Moss Side to watch City at Maine Road. In my opinion, Moss Side is the scarier of the two. Salford Precinct made me feel tense walking through it, but walking through Moss Side just made me feel uneasy. Didn't want to be there longer than I needed to. Not actually been to Moss Side since the late 90's, so maybe I've just got an old fashioned view of the place, hopefully things are better.

The weird geometric shapes of the flats was mental. It was the people that was the worst .. you had absolutely no idea wot you were gonna encounter goin up the stairs, or just goin in your own gaff .. especially if it was bein burgled .. or the worst of all was if the baddies turned up coz they had the wrong flat. You could end up dead. I seen a guy get his face smashed in with hammers in the Spinners .. hearing someone gurgling cos they're choking on their own teeth is an experience that I wish I'd missed. People were just walking about like the guy wasn't there.. Gettin a cheeky bit of weed in there on Friday night when it was a lovely disco. Ahem. Get to Gorton, Clayton, Openshaw & Beswick. A lot has changed now of course but back in the 90s & 00s that was a rough little area. Moss side has improved massively now compared to how it was. And not forgetting the old Bull Ring in Hulme, the “party estate”. But Salford is a city in its own right & some of its places are pretty bad rough TBF. Great video though mate. Good stuff. 🙏🏼

Wythenshawe did have a reputation back in the day. Like everywhere else, it’s not where you go it’s what you do and who you go with. Back on topic of Wythenshawe, while it still has its social ills and what not the area has improved thus its a tight nit community.

Salford is not in Manchester. It is a seperate city with about 300,000 residents over a 7 square mile area. It's a big place, going from Ordsall to Cadishead, then across to Little Hulton, and all the way back up to Blackfiars.

37 square miles actually. And yes it's a separate city, but it's also a satellite of Manchester. It wouldn't have the enhanced status it's come to enjoy in recent years if it wasn't adjacent to Manchester. It would be like Wolverhampton or Peterborough at best.

@@honestplaces Yeah idk what happened to the place now, I guess it just attracted the wrong people overtime. Nothing to really do here apart from a gym, b&m and library. There used to be fairs outside the first house library and GoLocal but they seemed to of stopped those events because less and less people went to them not many people wanted to setup a stall there. (If you wondering where that is, it's opposite the road from the post office, there used to be a marketplace there but it got all turned into townhouses, shop and library) I feel like you just genuinely don't see a lot of outdoor community events in the UK anymore as you used to, mostly councils and big brands doing them now but it's not common at all.
