You could use sugar, however you will have to adjust to your taste. This particular recipe is with honey. I hope this helps.

Salt enhances flavors, adding salt to sweet taste balances it out. For shelf life, to be honest I don’t know. Every time I have made this for my family it’s out within 1-2 days. However, I’ll think one week but make sure it’s stored in an air tight container to preserve freshness. I hope this helps

I used unsalted. Oven preheated to 350 F. I hope this helps

For the oven 350 degree Fahrenheit. For the stove roast on medium heat. I hope this helps.
