She is so good I was thinking about buying a lathe so I would have a reason for making a copy of her work. But, as an unplugged hobzist, I could not go that far however the undercarriage with the rollers is now on my list of projects. Thanks for the motivation and inspiration.

My guess is that many of your viewers build projects in a similar fashion, design and build at the same time. To me, that’s half the fun. Totally agree about mass and vibration in shop tools. One small improvement I have and seen others do is to provide a means to kick up the cabinet so it does not always rest on the casters. Some hinges and a lever arm can bring the cabinet up a quarter inch when it is in the desired location. That avoids the vibration from the casters. Easy addition to most cabinets.

Another great little project, Caitlin. I hope it ends up as sturdy as you need for the lathe. It's great to see how useful your cleat wall is. I used the cleat method to mount my HF dust extractor up out of the way in my pole barn. This made mounting easy without need for assistance to get it hung on the wall, then I just locked it in place with a couple of construction screws. Looking forward to seeing the completed stand and your turning that comes off of the lathe.

Nice cabinet, looks like it’s very sturdy, just what you need for a lathe stand, it’s one of the few tools I don’t own although I think it’s one of the tools you have no use for until you own one 👌👌👌👍👍👍🇦🇺

Hello H. B. Hope your doing well. Nice build on your Lathe Cabinet. Cool Idea on the turning tools storage location at the end of the cabinet top , readily within reach. Looks like you’ll have plenty of storage built in. The fact you have this on castors make this really nice for when you need to use it and tucked away when you need more space within your shop. Your shop has really come together well. Making the most of available space in a smaller size footprint. If you were so Inclined , would love to see P. B. S. Come knock on your door and offer a T. V. Series. They could call it Working Wood , The Honey Badger Way. That would be pretty awesome. Since Norm has retired you could easily continue the P. B. S. Series on woodworking shows. Good morning 🌅, Honey B, very nice project, well worth the effort, just one thing I am concerned about you might find it will rock and move around on wheels, especially if the floor is not level, it might help if you can put a rail on your back wall then bolt it to it, I think you will be surprised how much it will move around even when doing small items, sorry for being a stick in the mud, just trying to help, and being safe, Keep up the great work, ❤ France,

@@HoneyBadgerWoodWorks it is better to be safe than having a problem when working, I have 2 lathe’s, Wadkin RS8 witch I have turned some very large pieces on the outboard side, it weighs just over 840Kg believe, I have even had it start move under vibration, very, very scary, as when you hit the stop button it takes a long time to stop, especially when you’re turning something around 4 foot plus in diameter, Which I’ve only done twice, it was exciting, Ha Ha 😝, good luck with your projects,

I literally have almost the same lathe. When i built my stand i used 2x3 to essentially make a oversized saw horse with splayed legs. The stretchers between the legs are at the same height/length the motor and belt needed to be. I didn't have a motor mount so I used a couple heavy duty door hinges and couple of springs that tension the motor on the belt. Next to the motor is a three drawer cabinet i got at a salvage store where i keep the chuck face plates, sand paper etc. One the tailstock side, on the back of the stand,theres two uprights that i mounted two magnetic tool holders (it became obvious with the length of the chisels, weight, and vibration one magnet doesn't work well). Visually, i can see the tools and can grab what I need. On the left side of the headstock theres a small platform with a series of holes where i keep my centers, drill chuck, knock out tool. I don't use the lathe all that much but its a very useful tool. Its relatively expensive to set up from scratch but is good for center drilling with a chuck. I also made a 10"sanding disk and platform that i can use it as a disk sander. Ive even used it for light metal working. Ill be looking forward to part two!

Nice setup. I have see the saw horse style stands for these. I pondered that for a bit, and mainly only settled on a cabinet because otherwise everything in my shop ends up covered in sawdust. The doors really help keep all that out and everything inside clean.

Nice looking lathe bench. Caster definitely make things easier when needing to move a piece of equipment. I've only made one mistake in my life, it was when I thought I was wrong and then I found out I was right. Now, I have pulled some really good screw ups. In which cases I just change the plans. What happens in the shop stays in the shop. Thank you for sharing. Can't wait to see what you turn. Everyone stay safe, happy and healthy.

I work in a shop. Even with a massive dust hog for the shop, there's enough dust kicked up by the table saw that I still wear a mask when cutting plywood and other things that make me sneeze

Mine's an old Sears as well. I got it from a contractor I used to make custom cabinet doors for. His dad passed away and he two in storage and didn't need the second. My second most used tool in the shop next to the table saw.
