The Bravo (and Alpha yoke) are both top quality items, especially for the price, which is expensive enough, but still reasonable for what you are getting. Both items will give you much refined control, so you've no excuse for not buttering those landings! (damn you Honeycomb)

After about 15 years with the Microsoft SideWinder FFB 2 joystick - which is still great - I upgraded last year to the Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo (and Logitech rudder pedals) Best purchase I have ever made for flight sim!! Absolutely satisfied with it. Wonderful feeling to grab all 4 throttles with your hand and take-off with a PMDG 747... Great review Gripp, hope you gonna enjoy your Honeycomb as much as I do! Can't make it this sunday unfortunately but I'm hoping to join your Sunday Madness Stream © next week again. 😎👍 RaptorX

Congratulations GripperSim, you have earned the coveted Zombiesnack Subscription Award! This award is rarely bestowed unless I feel like it, and thanks in part to your great editing and wonky sense of humor I am happy to have subscribed to your channel. I am eagerly awaiting my Honeycomb yoke and throttle to augment my actual flight experiences. I feel like simming has helped, I had a two decade break from flying (500 hours previously) and when I went up again last week for the first time in quite a while, it was pretty smooth.

Yes, I got mine about two weeks ago or so, and I've been having a blast with it ever sense. As it helped me in my aviation skills ?, yes. In what I mean by that, is that it is more precise than my other throttle quadrant equipment that I had in the past. (looking at you Saitek, throttle quadrant). I highly recommend it, if you can get it. It is very helpful in your overall flight simulation aviation experience. I have already been using the honeycombed yolk which was another leap forward for my flight simulation experience as well. Just sharing my experience, regarding the yoke. I will say however that there is an issue with the R.J. 45 cable for communications between the base and the yolk, disconnects. The stress with the cable when pulling back causes the connector of the R.J. 45 to separate the pins thus losing communications. I have not generated a honeycomb support ticket yet to resolve the issue as of this post. I don't want to lose flight time, so I'd been procrastinating in getting it done. Overall the unit is functional, I just have to compensate for the issue described above, which is simply just by reinserting the R.J. 45 connector and plugging it back in. Just in FYI me being in the networking tech industry, this is a known problem with R.J. 45 connection points so intern network administrators buying network switch hardware that simply having a cover that goes in front of the connector with a lip guard on the metal bracket to force the connector to stay in position, and not dislodge from the pins. In future versions of the honeycombed yolk I would've imagined that honeycomb will follow the same path by having a cover over the R.J. 45 connector on both connection points. So I am curious to wonder if anybody else is having the same problem. Looking forward to the rudder pedals to replace my seriously aging Saitek rudder pedals that are not as precise as they once were . "Gripper", got another like for me enjoy your content cheers Dion BTW, self promotion if anyone is interested I do have aviation content as well over at my KZbin channel search Dionm01. I've been waiting for this (and the Alpha Flight Control) for most of this year and for me it's perfect. It has replaced a thrustmaster warthog throttle and joystick that I've been using previously and the accuracy of my control has improved so much. I especially like the trim control; at last I can trim accurately. Loving it!

I have both the Alpha and Bravo Quadrants. I love flying with both of them. Unfortunately after only 5 or 6 months of use of the Bravo Throttle Quadrant the Axis with the thrust reverser actuation levers became unusable because the wiring came loose or unsoldered. I just sent the Bravo Quadrant back to Honeycomb Aeronautical for repair or replacement. I hope the process takes a minimum amount of time as I already miss the quadrant. I had to break out the Thrust Master TCA throttle quadrant in the mean time.

I just got my Bravo this week and am seriously impressed with it. I love the trim wheel in particular but it is all good. I’m getting the add-on Airbus set as it will add even more versatility to this already great set. There is very little to complain about. I’m using it with MSFS2020, DCS and IL-2. Perhaps some issues with the gear lever in IL-2 and the trim in DCS but I might be able to sort those in time. I’ve a home made button box for those in the meantime. Thank you for this review.

A great looking piece of kit and I like the fact that you have so many buttons and lights etc to take away having to fiddle around with the mouse on the screen. Now to see when it'll be available in Perth (Australia) . . .

Brilliant piece of kit, bought the Alpha and Bravo last week as my old Saiteck Yoke had finally given up the ghost ( as you may have read on your discord) great investment. I can't compare it to the Boeing controls as I havnt got my hands on them. Had issues with the Seneca today but that was more I think with me applying too much power for the rudder to counteract. (I always fly in ultra realism) Have now solved that issue. More hardware add on videos please Gripp. Cheers see you on the Sunday stream Skyhawk61

Just got mine this week as well. Surprised you said the trim wheel is perfect. That was the one disappointment for me. On the C152 and JF PA28 I have to spin it like crazy to get it to move a small amount. I have ended up using Axis and oohs to fix the problem. How did you get it working in the sim settings ?

Hi Stephen, it seems to work well for me, I'll double check..
@stephenbull2026
@stephenbull2026 3 жыл бұрын
@@GripperSim Bit disappointed it is simply 2 switches as opposed to a potentiometer . I was having to spin 2 or 3 times just to move the trim a small fraction. Having never flown a GA in real life, I have know idea if it is realistic or not. In AAO I have set it to repeat the ‘key press” x 9 to speed up the rotating of the wheel.

I promise the moment I get done with this **** Proton pack I'll design a decent throttle quadrant and finish the rudder pedals. I need them myself. I was seriously disappointed with the internal design of the Alpha (my distant past I was an electronic quality specialist) and it's design while passable didn't look to be made to last. People are already reporting problems with it just as I predicted. I cancelled the order for the Bravo when I saw that and sold the Alpha for a Warthog which is far nicer (but a LOT more expensive).
@GripperSim
@GripperSim 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Marc, I'm sorry to hear the Bravo may not last. I guess only time will tell, I'll do another video on in a while. I also have a Warthog, its great and I've had it for well over 5 years now. both the joystick and throttle quadrant, and they sure is sturdy! Let me know how your getting on with your own! : )
@marcdraco2189
@marcdraco2189 3 жыл бұрын
@@GripperSim Yeah, they look amazing as the Warthog does, but the Thrustmaster gear is built to last with "hall" sensors whereas the other stuff is using what appear to be carbon-track potentiometers. Open ones at that. I can't speak to the throttles as I've never seen the guts of one. As you say, time WILL tell.

Managed to snag one of these at MSRP last week, luck that I thought to have a look to see if they were available. Very happy with it. I do like the ability to change the levers for different aircraft. Spent last weekend making profiles for the different aircraft. Great review Gripper. Detail on the knob speed often overlooked how important that is.

I've been using the Alpha & Bravo for months now. Absolutely love them. I can remap the flaps buttons on the Alpha Yoke to something else since I have dedicated flaps levers on the Bravo. I've yet to customized the unmapped rocker switches on the Bravo. Build quality is great, if not excellent. The ability to configure the Bravo to whatever I'm flying is AWESOME.

I was hoping you weren't going to say I wasted my money. Hehehe... I honestly can't imagine going back to using my old Saitek throttles. I don't really use the autopilot buttons on the Bravo (I have a Realsimgear autopilot) but having the flaps, trim and gear integrated is a huge plus. Don't regret my purchase at all (I have an Alpha as well).

I have a decent Sayreville system, with Radío and switch panel, but was thinking to buy the autopilot one, would you recommend the honey in stead? I mean, would do the Job? Thanks in advance

It is worth it just for the trim wheel alone. Trying to adjust trim with a button moving X degrees each click is nigh on impossible. The trim wheel works for me - plus the AP adjustments and selective AP options. Flight sim has moved a significant degree forward for me.

Always been interested in one of these. Being mostly a DCS flyer and not much civ flight and mostly holding off on msfs until I can get finally get my hands on a new GPU I'm torn on how it would integrate with my full thrustmaster warthog HOTAS set up. Either way I love the channel and I get my msfs kicks from you alone. Once I get a GPU really want to do a around the world flight in an old prop.

Honeycomb out here upsetting the entire midrange market for civilian flight sim gear, putting everyone else to shame. It doesn't get better than them unless you're willing to spend ungodly amounts of money on the high-end stuff. The milsim or space sim equivalent is VKB. They have some really high-end gear too, but their Gladiator NXT stick is amazing for $120, miles better than any similarly priced saitek or thrustmaster stick i've ever touched. Honeycomb has their own HOTAS coming out though, so VKB could lose their footing in the midrange market if they're not careful.
