I'm 29 now, and listening to this is like stepping into a time machine. It's incredible. It reminds me of everything we lost. It makes me think of how bland modern music is. Think about this for a second. Back when this track came out, everyone thought "eww bland nu-metal trash". Even Hoobastank admitted that they had no formal understanding of music theory whatsoever. And yet, listening to this now, after the progressive dumbing-down of music into autotuned, quantized, shellacked turds, it sounds like fucking Mozart. It has compositional complexity that today's music lacks. Listen to that intro riff. I mean, this actually has a melody. It's not just some house beat with monotone grunting layered over it. It's really pathetic, just how far we've fallen.

@Censord11 ай бұрын
What does that mean 👀
@bigalthelegend500711 ай бұрын
@@Censord its the sound effect being used on the intro guitar riff before the band kicks in. It’s usually in the form of a pedal that intentionally produces a phenomenon called “phasing” or “being out of phase”. I cant explain it in scientific terms but think its when frequencies in the tonality are slightly misaligned so it produces that swooshing sound.

Crawling In The Dark by Hoobastank is a powerful anthem of self-discovery and searching for purpose. The song’s driving guitar riffs and dynamic vocals convey a sense of urgency and introspection as the lyrics explore the uncertainty of navigating life’s challenges. Doug Robb’s voice brings an emotional weight to the feeling of being lost yet determined to find answers. This track captures the early 2000s rock energy perfectly, making it both nostalgic and relatable for anyone who’s ever felt unsure of their path.

Digital Generation: "I hate Nickelback, they suck." Also Digital Generation: "Fetty Wap and Lil Yatchy are the shit." This is why I am glad I grew up in the 2000s. Minus Dubba and the shitty world events, the 2000s was pretty awesome decade to live in.

It's so cool to jump on the tube and come across songs from when I was 16 and younger. I'm 34 now and talk about some memory floods of the good ole days

Their best song…by far. Yes, maybe we’ve played it on repeat one too many times decades ago…but, try to remember the first time you heard it. That riff is up their with some of the greatest of all time.

This song along with Audioslave's "Show Me How To Live" are great songs to sing to the Heavens regardless of whether or not you believe in God. Both songs are about trying to find meaning in a seemingly meaningless world. And they're awesome!
