This is an excellent idea! We the younger generations don't get to hear these perspectives, and our history, enough (this coming from a 36 year old here). Also, great way to break down the stigma that old guard is bad, as it is clearly far more nuanced than that. Thanks for doing this, and so well done! I adore this chanel already! I literally watched it piece by piece in order to make it last longer! Then got some Whiskey to listen to the whole thing in one go. The conversation is organic, it gets deep at times and then it polishes up the surface with entertaining anecdotes, playful banter and delightful insights. Seeing such great gentlemen telling their stories is so important. Thank you guys for sharing. As a millennial myself I can say that in the internet age, while there formed strong online communities, it's really disservicing in a way. I feel the loss of a many queer and gay elders, and their personal stories really did affect how millennial queers/kinksters developed as they came to age into both gay and kink spaces. I'm glad to see this. The Old Guard gets a bad rap often but I think it's very important to learn from. As far as things have come, it's important to learn where culture came and grew from. In order to both protect it, and ourselves through continuing struggles against adversity. Thank you, personally, from one queer enby.

I remember personals ads in the newspaper in the early 90's but was still in the closet then so never replied to any, when I did come out in 98 I'd been online just a few months at the time and had discovered irc chatrooms which were a popular way to hook up.

Ft. Payne, Alabama isn't just Alabama, it's up on the Cumberland Plateau, which is the southernmost part of Appalachia. Ft. Payne is pretty small, maybe 14-15 thousand people, which makes it the largest city in the area. So not a heck of a lot of choice up there. I know this because my dad's family hails from San Mountain which is part of the Plateau. My grandpa retired to Ft. Payne, and my Aunt Doris was a school teacher there.
