I had the same reaction face as you at the start of her cleans, it was right out of the blue. I’ve heard her in the previous band, but never with Arch Enemy…I was a firm believer they were harsh only. But this has song has moved them to a new level in my estimation, allowing Allysa to showcase her vocal talents more…it’s going to be a great move for the band. I loved this song, it was absolutely amazing from everyone.

@@seanofarrell8896 I read that somewhere, about another song with cleans...AE aren't known for those type of vocals. But it gives them another dimension to their already stacked talents. The drummer is always mental on the kit, the guitar solos are epic in this one. The whole song is a a complete hit for me.

@@seanofarrell8896 some changes don't work out, but it shows the evolution of the band and their willingness to keep going...even though they might be out of their comfort zone. I would agree, it's up there with one of my favourites...and I can't recall a song with more solos than this one.

If you get the chance, listen to the Kamelot live Liar Liar and Sacrimony on a streaming service from the album; Alissa and Elize are more forward in the mix than the KZbin videos, especially Alissa's background harsh in Liar Liar

No matter how much I try to listen to Arch Enemy, I can't get the female growling, not for my ears. Here I first heard her clean vocal, and it's really incomparable. Now, if she always sang with clean vocal, it would be top-notch. And so, growling does not suit her.
