Radar sensors in Mercedes cars of that era are prone to throwing intermittent codes. They have a two-piece housing which will expand and leak over time, slowly borking the electronics, or the connector can be bad. There are identical sensors on some American make vehicles, but the connectors are not identical, so used ones are not a safe bet. The original ones are in the low four figures new, but can be had for slightly less from third party dealers. They still have to be coded to the car by Mercedes, though. Ask me how I know.

Hoovie is a real good friend and car salesmen in that sense. He knows that a bad friend would try and leverage the friendship into getting things done for less money. But he knows what the cost of things are in the car business and that what is the most important is that you have a friendly mechanic that doesn't rip you off, and does a good job. Wizard is a great mechanic in all ways shapes and forms and Hoovie knows this. Wouldn't be worth risking that friendship and mechanic over some money. I think the key to their friendship and being able to do business with each other is transparency. Wizard giving in depth explanations of why things need to be done, how much it will cost and etc.

Tyler, please read this: I had a set of those exact same tires on my gmc Sierra that I had all last year. They were all 4 brand new mounted and balanced perfectly, within the first 500 miles the front driver side tire developed a bubble in the side wall and then exploded all within a 1/4 mile. Then the rear passenger side tire did the exact same thing and exploded within a minute of developing the bubble in the side wall of the tire. The rear driver side developed a bad hop on the highway coming home from work and it had a massive bubble on the top side left hand side of the tire. The last one to go was the front passenger side tire and that was also a massive bubble in the side wall. Each time I went to the tire shop I chose a different one for each tire to get their opinion on these tires each one and the tire techs all said do not buy these again, we will not and do not sell this brand for this exact same reason. Either they bubble out or the tread comes off while driving normal day to day driving….. when each one would bubble I’d get a brand new tire to replace it (of course different but exact same size and weight rating for my truck that the others were before being bubbled and exploding). Please take these off and get name brand tires for this truck before these tires take out your fenders and bed sides like mine did 🤦‍♂️ ended up just letting the truck go because of all the damage these tires caused. Thought I got a great deal on 4 new tires when in fact I paid $1200 for them to destroy my truck I only had for 8 months after paying for it in full before going up north. 2 of the incidents happened in Michigan and 2 in Ohio. Winter driving in Ohio and then September to October pre winter in Michigan

The Symbol for the radar cruise control (distronic) is normal. It simply means frontal collision warning is turned on.

Greatings. I have a 2014 4x2 jeep renegade with a 1.6lt diesel 4 banger and a 6 speed manuel gearbox which has a Forward Collision Warning system. It does have a radar and a front facing camera but i am sure it is not as advance or as complicated as the system on your Mercedes. This week i also had a fault warning for that system and an other fault warning for a blown light bulb on the tail light assembly which is both for the tail light and break light. I was not too worried about the blown bulb but the Forward Collision Warning system fault was a different story. Anyway, i changed the blown light bulb and to my surprise the fault warning for the Forward Collision Warning system is also cleared and did not came back. I thought maybe since the system not only allerts the driver about a possibilty of an accident but also applied automatic breaking when necesarry it needs, for safety reasons, the tail lights to work properly. So a light bulb was blown and the whole system was shutdown just because in the scenerio if the system gets activated and feels the need to apply the breaks the following driver might not be allerted strongly enough due to a missing light bulb and they might ending up rear ending me. Kind a make sence kind a over thinking i my opinion.

It's the high cost of servicing and maintenance that causes the massive depreciation of those European luxury cars. You're a brave man taking one on, the rest of us can watch on with interest.

I've always wanted a late W140. Bought a 2003 W220 500 4-matic and I have loved it except it has cost me a LOT. Did the air pump and 4x Arnott air shocks, paint job, ac and alternator replacement, windshield and back side windows (700 dollars a pop) replacement and the list just keeps giving... Now it has become impossible to ge replacement parts for the W220 2003 lang body panels and double paned side windows...

I got my 1st (I have 2 now) E55 a few years back, and it came with chrome rims. They were so bad the tires would not hold air pressure. Ditch that crap asap. Plus, that 600hp car is going to need some GREAT tires, so a wheel & tire package is in your immediate future.

If voltage is low, blower motor will shut itself down to conserve power. Turn ignition to position 1, push and hold call and OK button on steering wheel, and vehicle info (voltage) will pop up on display.

Whatever that CL65 AMG needs, I say fix it and you have a relatively reliable sports coupe that can put many other sports cars to shame. And don’t forget to maintain ABC suspension as it’s serviceable

Eventually you get to a point where service position on a B5 is a 30 minute thing. Timing jobs and all in a few hours drinking beers. Engines in and out and Chinese turbos installed in a day... Terri.... erm, I mean wonderful cars.

@@john_toss I'd agree, especially paying a shop. Honestly, once I got mine put back together and deleted as many remnants of the previous owner as possible it was a great car. Once you find a few friends with them you get handy quick. Good times with a B5. My next one will be an old man example that I leave stock and whip on the weekends. Lol

That radiator for your Cadillac looks like a 1965 Mustang 289 radiator. The 302 radiator has the bottom hose on the other side. It is probably the most common radiator used for engine swaps. I am using one in my boat Tail Speedster.

Tyler!! At least you didn’t have to do shocks & struts!! They aren’t cheap either!! 😂😂. The Raptor is a break even or better I suspect!! It’s so well sorted and an ideal match to your farm until you get things paved after the shop is built that you would be very wise to keep this e for a while! There’s definitely lots of life left in that powertrain. If it was 2017 or newer, I might not Beas confident. They exist without serious repairs, but many have had the turbo done before 150,000 miles and even 2 by 300,000 miles +!!
